Hey ladies :)

So.. As some of you may have read, I have mentioned shamelessly that I love the Scott Kay Crown Setting.. That is my sorta setting :)

However, I''m wondering if in your searches anyone has found other designers who make similar settings? Someone mentioned Jeff Cooper but there is only 1 retailer in Canada :$ I am in Toronto, Ontario (I know it is a primarily American board :P).

I am definitely a setting girl but we are just starting our search, so any suggestions would be welcome! :)

Thanks :)

Do you have a picture of the Scott Kay Crown Setting? Is that the 3 stone one?

It''s great to hear that you''re becoming more involved in the process. No worries!

I LOVE Scott Kay Crown settings! In fact, if we hadn''t decided to go custom, that is very likely what I''d have chosen. Which specific Scott Kay settings are you looking at (round vs. princess; 3 stone vs. 3 stone + diamond channelling down the band)?

As for design, what are your tastes? Are you strictly into the Scott Kay design parameters or are you interested in exploring options you may not have considered?

Ritani settings, IMO, are quite elegant. This setting in particular is somewhat similar to the Scott Kay Crown settings. Spend some time navigating Ritani''s site - it may give you tons of ideas!

What are your opinions on pave/micropave and halo settings?
James Allen''s website has some quite lovely and affordabe pave settings - this could make room in your FF''s budget for a larger diamond, while still having an ornate setting. I think this setting and this halo setting would really make an impressive diamond (or color stone) POP!

If you have any interest in modern tension settings, Gelin Abacihas some interesting options.

Also keep in mind that many independent jewelers often design their own collections. Good jewelers can offer a very "designer" look and quality for a phenomenal price. Get recommendations from friends and co-workers about jewelers in your area. My personal opinion of chain jewelry stores is very low, but I love giving my business to a highly skilled privately owned local jeweler.

Good luck and most of all HAVE FUN with this!

Namaste -

This is the ring I like with the Crown Setting :)
Initially, I was interested in the 3 stone one, same setting, but we went to see it last weekend, and I realized I prefer solitaires. It is a gorgeous ring, but not THE ring.. if you know what I mean

Ianna -

The Ritani setting was great :) We''ll definitely browse that site.

I like the way it has the diamond in the gallery (? - I don''t know technical terms) (on the side there if the ring was on your finger and you were looking at it from wrist up)... same as the Scott Kay one I just posted a picture of.

Anyway, thank you so much for the suggestions! :)
