ssageRow_Body_Content">Would it be a good idea to purchase rough Ruby and sapphire, not treated, good quality for cutting round brilliant 1.5-2.0mm, price 5$/ct.

I''m not too sure about it, so I would like a little advice.

Sounds like you''ll be cutting melee sized stones. How do you know about the quality of the rough? Are you going to be doing the cutting?

I''m not 100% sure of the quality, and I''m not going to be cutting them myself. I''m pretty sure that it isn''t even worth it, unless I''m 100% sure of the quality. I was thinking about purchasing a very small amount just to test them out and see what I may be working with.

If you''re not planning on cutting them yourself, it would be worth it to you to first consult with a cutter. some will not touch someone elses rough.

Tying to source the rough, then getting a cutter to do it isn’t worth it. Even a cutter gets duds and he’s got years of experience reading the rough. You are better off purchasing already cut melees.

You''re not going to find any cutter that is going to cut 2 mm stones. These are always cut in Asia. You would be much better off buying cut stones. 1.5 to 2 mm stones are very cheap, your jeweler should be able to get them for you for very little.

Are there any reliable online resources where I can purchase melee's?
