This was a fun watch! It’s a summary of Meghan Markles jewelry.

Great tour of MM's jewelry...Thank you for posting this Little Red!!!

I appreciate your re-posting this in Hangout after you posted it here, LJsapphire. I had not been to The Royal Jewels Thread for some time. I think it the discussion on the blog is wonderful.

As I responded in the Hangout thread, I think it must be very frustrating to be Queen and be unable to speak one's mind. Using one's jewelry to communicate is brilliant.

Princess Eugenie is wearing the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik tiara, made by Boucheron in 1919.

In platinum and diamonds, the tiara has an enormous 93.70-carat emerald at its centre, and six smaller emeralds either side.

People here in the UK are saying the countess of Sussex looks pregnant. I’m more interested in her choice of rings. She seems to be wearing quite a few. Unless it’s the chain from her bag wrapped round her fingers. Also a closer photo of the Queen’s brooch.

Bad luck?

Possibly.

Based on the choice of tiara, the size, cost and glitziness of the wedding, I can't help but feel it is to remind everyone that she is born a princess at birth, and not marrying a prince, etc. etc...

Personal opinion, of course.

DK :))

They have had a hard time in the British media. I feel you are correct. She is a princess and I think Prince Andrew or Sarah might have pushed for this big wedding. It looks like they had the perfect day and I’m happy for that.

I agree, and she is also the first princess of this generation to get married bearing in mind that Zara Phillips was not given a royal title according to Princess Anne’s wishes. Her tiara and jewels, if not the dress and other aspects, should be grander in nature to befit her birth. I imagine that the Queen picked out this tiara for this very reason, and I won’t be surprised if she has also picked some options out for Eugenie and Louise in the future.

Princess Eugenie looked absolutely beautiful, and her husband very handsome. I wish them a lifetime of happiness.
I love the tiara she chose, maybe Sarah's will be worn by Princess Beatrice when her day comes? As the older/first born princess of Sarah and Andrew, that might be fitting.
I also loved the earrings Eugenie wore, are they part of a set with the tiara?
I noticed she has a yellow gold wedding band, do we know if it comes from the same nugget of Welsh gold as Catherine's did? I'm not even sure if Meghan's came from it, to be honest.

I read that the emerald and diamond earrings were a gift from her husband and that her wedding ring is made from Welsh gold. The earrings are lovely and she can wear them a lot because they are on the smaller side, but I thought the scale was too small with that gorgeous tiara.
I’m in the US and the UK coverage made multiple references to “blood princess”. And, even though they were born into royalty they have no official role going forward except to show up for the Queen’s trooping of the color. I’m not sure how Eugenie and Beatrice feel, but there appears to be conflict going on elsewhere in the family about their birthrights and limited privileges. (The “blood princess” references kept giving me Harry Potter flashbacks )

Great new pics! Thanks PS'ers!:appl:
