Royal Jewels

The Blood Princess I think came from Andrew I think, because of the criticism about the cost of security for the event. Also seems a rather snarky comment aimed at Anne, who refused titles for her children.

More likely to be directed at the Wessex as their children should also be entitled to be addressed as prince and princess.

According to Wikipedia, they made the request to the Queen for them not to have such titles.

Princess Anne's children are not entitled to be prince and princess, as they are born of a female offspring of a reigning monach and not a male one, again, according to Wiki.

However I could be wrong.

Don't like Andrew.

Stories abound about how he is full of entitlement and importance.

Allegedly, on arriving on the RN vessel for his first assignment as a young navel officer, he informed the crew that they should address him as HRH, to be promptly and curtly replied by the Officer in Command that he in turn should address him as "Sir"!

Regarding choice of dress and tiara, I think she had full input in the matter. I really don't see the Queen saying to her granddaughter that she could not wear her choice of tiara of which there are many. Afterall, it is a royal wedding and will be remembered in history with photos. Regarding her dress, the bride had control over this too. She selected the designer, fabric and design of the dress. She opted for a low back to show her scar and no veil to hide the back of the dress. I think the only restriction would be no bare shoulders and cleavage. Was I a fan, no. But it was proper for the occasion. It had to have a long train to fill the aisle especially without a veil.

I took believe the choice of dress and tiara are down to the bride with or without influence from her immediate family.

I personally do not believe the Queen would have given her the free reign to borrow whatever she might have desired, as some tiaras are likely to be off-limit to anyone else except for Her Majesty.

I loved the choice of tiara. Finally, something with real flair. I liked her dress and tiara more than Meghan's choices. It was wonderful seeing all the colour! Truly stunning.

Much as I liked Eugenie's tiara, I prefer an all white tiara for a wedding myself, such as all diamonds or diamonds with white pearls etc...

Just my personal preference, of course.

Princess Eugenie looked absolutely beautiful, and her husband very handsome. I wish them a lifetime of happiness.
I love the tiara she chose, maybe Sarah's will be worn by Princess Beatrice when her day comes? As the older/first born princess of Sarah and Andrew, that might be fitting.
I also loved the earrings Eugenie wore, are they part of a set with the tiara?
I noticed she has a yellow gold wedding band, do we know if it comes from the same nugget of Welsh gold as Catherine's did? I'm not even sure if Meghan's came from it, to be honest.

I believe Meghan does have the welsh gold wedding ring. I also have a teeny amount in my wedding band too. I bought it from Clogau. What can I say, I love the royal family :kiss2:

Good find on Diana's bracelet and earrings! I love an all white diamond (and pearl) tiara too. But IMHO, royal folks can get away with the colored stone tiaras for weddings. It just seems part of the royal tradition across the globe. Huge emeralds, rubies and sapphires that adorn these old tiaras just scream royalty. Especially since non-royal brides and homecoming, prom and pageant queen tiaras are usually made up of all white stones and silver metal. I think if I had to choose a colored gem for a royal tiara I would pick 'something borrowed' blue such as sapphires or aquamarines. Next choice would be rubies for love.

That is so cool! Are the royals' bands made of all Welsh gold or just a piece?

So according to protocol, are those Fijian pearls hers or the Crown's?

Been reading a lot of criticism of Kate's dress here- Am I in the minority, to say that I like it? I like the fabric and I like that it's kind of a retro 80s style..

i love that dress. also, she is impossibly slender. i didn't know what the custom was with the brooch but the yellow ribbon and colors of the brooch worked well with the dress & tied it all together.
