The hidden symbolism in the photos is just so wow! The dress she wore 10 years ago is seen for the 1st time since, the epaulette earrings from the pre-wedding with her favourite tiara, the pearl brooch from another Victoria (her great-great-grandmother) and having her grandmother Sibyla's tiara in what was her palace... All nice and subtle touches!
Thank you all for this thread. I just found it and only read the last 50 pages (and that took 3 hours).
Love the Queen looking so relaxed (particularly at Ascot). She should wear more dark colors, they look fabulous on her.
Didn't even know there was a Queen Max until today. What style. Dress up, dress down. Makes a statement and always seems to be laughing.
Thanks again. Not much of a royalist, but I'll be watching this thread. So much fun.
I saw the Danish crown jewels when I was on an internship in Copenhagen and they were so gorgeous, I'll try to post pics later if I find the time

Which were your favourite? I've heard people say that the emeralds are very pure and have a great colour. The diamonds are also a popular choice.
Did you hat the snap the various bracelets?
Also, did you see them before or after the 2012 documentary and Her Majesty's famous quote "We don't count the carats, we count the centuries"?
I saw them in 2016, yes the emeralds were stunning with really intricate designs. My favourite, maybe because I'm a christian, was a sort of praying spot with an engraved mirror in amber and amber crosses standing out on the bottom edge. There was also this beautiful huge gold crown embellished with just about anything you can think of . The castle was really beautiful too, very danish style, simple yet so elaborate and stylish
I remember thinking...these diamonds look very "warm" but BIG in person. Maybe if they display them under different light setting, they would be less brownish?
