Royal Jewels

I think im looking forward to The dutchess of Cambridge's upcoming meeting with CP Mary in Denmark
Its about kids and sfuff but im hoping Mary will wear a bit of bling and show Kate how its done in daytime

I don't like the express and i am not wanting to stir controversy on today of all days so ill just post the link and say Charles must be very happy about his mother's remarks

Picture has nothing to do with the news i just thought i better justify my post with a bejewled picture

The Queen hosted a reception for the local community at Sandringham House prior to tomorrow's Accession Day. The Nizam of Hyderabad brooches have been with the Queen since her 1947 wedding. FB_IMG_1644085335875.jpg

Got a close up of these on the news tonight
beautiful
i love she wears them as a pair
Kate needs to up her game on the brooch front but im sure ive seen CP Mary wearing a couple of brooches for her 50th birthday so hopefully she will wear one when the two meet and Kate will be inspired

This is an 'anti post' :lol-2:
Im a fan of orange all year round
but this is crying out for some gold jewlery preferably of the statement kind

In the last few days we've seen The Queen wear three pairs of jewelled clip brooches for photos released in connection with the Platinum Jubilee. I wonder why now? Is there any significance? A new trend? All 3 pairs have a connection to her late parents and husband, but so do a number of other jewels. Why now? And why nothing with more historic value?

EDIT - The last two are set in platinum, I just checked. Can't find info about the metal for the aqua clips.

Are the roses not from the Nizam of Hyderabad dismantled tiara ?
I don't know, i don't get all frothy at the mouth over its dismantling like some do so i don't remember what metal it was made of

All i can find about the aqua clips is they were a present from her dad on her 18th birthday

Not jewel related but a bit of fun to mark 70

Another nice one of HM and her DIL HRH (i think i have to stop just calling her Cam even if i mean it as a term of endearment)

I felt very privileged to have visited Buck House to attend an exhibition of her jewels, including some of her famous pieces, and to Tower Bridge to ogle at the Crown Jewels.

DK :kiss2:

So it has been confirmed we will have brooches and 'big jewlery' into the next reign (of course not for a few more years)
Prince Charles now 9needs to start schooling his eldest son up on buying nicer (bigger) jewlery for Kate

Hmmm, not a fan as I believe it is possible to have too much bling and this is one such example for me personally.

True, it should be reworked as a two-row necklace and possibly as a smaller/simpler single row one. But can we see it again just one more time?

Yes, the roses are from the Nizam's wedding present tiara. The Queen's Diamonds by Hugh Roberts confirms they (and the ivy clips) are set in platinum.

This is crying out for a good stylist!!!
edited to clafify i am talking about Princess Bea not Kate in the picture below becsuse that coat is to die for on KateScreenshot_20220207-112204.pngYe
Year i not a fan of the leg of lamb (or is it mutton?) sleeves and its so bulky and heavy on a coat but i do like the colour combo - but coats needs brooches to brighten up winter
What she really needs is the head band to match the Elizabethan ensemble :lol-2: :lol-2:

Although i am actually a fan of this style of 'hat wear' on Kate

Add a higher collar and nicer hair and you've got a late Victorian lady strolling the London streets anno domini 2022.
Bonus points for actually being a descendant of Queen Victoria.

Imagining you as a.wealthy Edwardian lady who wears tiaras to dinner every night like Queen Mary

Also top marks for the tiara hair !
Born 100 - 120 - 130 years too late :lol-2:
But it could also have been a very interesting time to have been in the science fields

True, I doubt my tiaras would have names like "Queen of Chemistry" if I was born in the century that my fashion and jewel interests lie!!:D
