In the last few days we've seen The Queen wear three pairs of jewelled clip brooches for photos released in connection with the Platinum Jubilee. I wonder why now? Is there any significance? A new trend? All 3 pairs have a connection to her late parents and husband, but so do a number of other jewels. Why now? And why nothing with more historic value?
EDIT - The last two are set in platinum, I just checked. Can't find info about the metal for the aqua clips.

I believe the ruby suite is one of the presents she received during a trip to the Middle East.

But it could also have been a very interesting time to have been in the science fields
I' m talking about Princess Beatrice outfit...I' m surely out of fashion, but I think the oversize style doesn't fit her
