Royal Jewels

I'm watching the welcoming ceremony for the President of South Africa and I can tell you there are some pleasant surprises on Camilla and Catherine's lapels! I'm even more excited for tonight's Banquet in BP.

Ooo, I wonder if the necklace and matching bracelet made with SA diamonds the late HM QEII received for her 21st birthday will make an appearance or not, and who is going to wear them?!

DK :))

not the best close ups of the brooches
but a fantastic brooch day !

It appears that they've avoided the "best diamonds" tonight, sorry.

perhaps as it was the first state visit of the new reign it was apropreate for all eyes to be on the new King's Queen's head and if Catherine wore something different or the ever deserving Sophie) it would take some of the spotlight off Queen Camila

Sophie does look very nice too
she sparkles
i would happily borrow that aqua tiara for the corrination

:kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2: at the first tiara events of the new reign:

Queen Cam wore the late HM QE II's Sapphires given to her by her parents for her wedding!

Sophie wore one of the late queen's ? Middle Eastern gifts! :kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2:

I've got the smelling salts!

I did not see the sapphires coming. It looks great on Camilla!!

Catherine is stunning (as usual).

The teal looks amazing on Sophie. I wish Charles would grant that Dukedom already.

Also heard the Duchess of Gloucester wore the India Cartier Tiara.

She wore massive WSS earrings!

The neckline of her top does not allow a statement necklace IMHO.

I found this out with my own formal evening wear - the low neckline without collar can accommodate a statement necklace and I need more!!! :lol-2:

Carolina Herrera would gladly disagree with you ;)
But that's Charlene, so let's be happy she wore these massive SS pearls.

I had to Google to find out who she is etc. as I don't follow fashion trends and labels.

I am guessing it is the brand of the top in the photo!

The Marchioness de Torre Casa more or less introduced the white dress shirt to women and sometimes pairs it with bold necklaces or a beautiful diamond riviere. I don't know who designed Charlene's.

The Princess of Wales wore a pearl bracelet that belonged to Elizabeth II

We can almost see the Duchess of Gloucester here with the Indian tiara. She wore the same gown, necklace, clips and brooch during the USA State Visit, but with the Honeycomb tiara.

Bonus jewels - The Earl of Wessex and Forfar escorted the brand-new Duchess of Norfolk to the table. Her Grace wore an heirloom sapphire necklace, but sadly no tiara (the title has passed to various branches of the family and the family tiaras may have gone to daughters, unless they were entailed). A beautiful pearl tiara of a former Duchess was on display at the tiara exhibition in Sotheby's this summer.
