I was on the road for 8h door to door, over 300 miles one way, with 3 pit stops, to reach the hotel where the service charity club's annual conference is held.

Packed 2 tops for the banquet for Saturday night (1 is a spare, just in case).

Tomorrow evenings' party is more casual, and I am not a big fan of fancy dress. However, I shall make an effort for certain.

DK :))

i got one more day im allowed to bend the rules right ? :lol-2:
now im not into dreseses and shoes but i will say the 80s were a ton of fun and im prepaired to go to war over that ! ;)2

see i just read this inside an article in the daily mail -its from a new book on Di's clothes
you would almost think that the movie Pretty woman took inspiration from it

and may i just add
this is why im a better shop assistant that this person

or the announcement of her engagement to Prince Charles in February 1981, ‘Shy Di’ had wanted an outfit to match her sapphire sparkler – and had hoped to find something in Bellville Sassoon, a high-end Knightsbridge salon.

However, the imperious French shop assistant failed to recognise the nervous teenager as the future Princess of Wales, and was cross she’d come in so near to closing time.

‘It was 5pm at night and this little girl came in and didn’t know what she wanted,’ couturier David Sassoon explains. ‘The assistant said: “Do you want a dress? A suit?” Diana said: “I’m not sure.”

‘She showed her a few things, and Diana didn’t think they were right. So, she suggested Diana went to Harrods.’

Which she did: there, she bought a cobalt blue skirt suit by British label Cojana that she wore to face the world’s press on the steps of Buckingham Palace.

I’m happy to hear you arrived safely! I could never drive that long. I get antsy after two hours!

Remember the scene in "Pretty Woman" where Julia Roberts' character walks into the store, all spiffy loaded with bags? The store clerk who threw her out the day before hurries to assist her and Roberts says, "remember me? You wouldn't wait on me? You work on commission, right?"

Then she holds up all her bags.

"Mistake. Huge mistake. I have to go shopping now!" and she swishes out the store leaving the clerk dumbfounded.

I bet the assistant in the Sassoon salon felt very much the same way!

i have my faux pearl choker (1989) im wearing as a tiara and a big sparkly brooch for my workmate and me
and Bruce Springsteen is about to step onto the stage in Dublin so its a huge day
this is from the reception for foreign royals i think ?

have a great day everyone
im making corination chicken as soon as i get home this afternoon
catch up with you all latter
xx
love Nicky

It's been a real treat to see all the pictures of the heads of state and other royals attending the reception.
I'm so impressed with King Charles, Prince Willian and Princess Catherine and their devotion and stamina to get thru these long days.

we had corination chicken on pasta and salad leaves on some corrination commerative china from 1953 for tea (dinner) just now
made Gary a cup of tea in a mug commerating Elizabeth and Philip's wedding
its a bit embarrasing. that room has the light bulb out, we keep forgetting to put the new bulb in when its daylight so i had to use a torch to fossok through the china cabinet

my workamte and i made the effort and wore big sparkly vintage brooches pinned to our aprons at work (we work in a bakery)
i wore my faux pearl choker as a tiara

What tiaras are Princess Catherine and Princess Charlotte wearing? :kiss2:

Update: Not tiaras. Matching Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen Headpiece with silver bullion, crystal and silver thread work three-dimensional leaf embroidery.

The family looks fabulous. The two princesses look extremely regal.

I would rather tiaras, but these do look nice. Charlotte's reminds me of the Downton Abbey wedding tiara!

Coronation 3.jpg

God Save the King!

Coronation 4.jpg

Better picture with the Scepter with the Cullinan I

Coronation 5.jpg

You can see where the Cullinan V was put in the Queen's crown.

This is obviously the Coronation Necklace, but I do not think these are the Coronation Earrings? They seem more round than teardrop shaped?

Coronation 7.jpg

William paying homage...can you imagine this moment for the two of them? Charles was too young to do this when his mother was crowned.

Hi!! You know that means we need details and close up of the tiara right? ;)2

Tiara BP.jpg

When I ordered my Queen Elizabeth II teacup from the Royal Collection Shop, this tiara somehow hopped in my cart. I have no idea how that happened!;)2 Once it arrived, I really had no choice but to give it a good home!

Wait...Camilla does not have pierced ears! That would explain why she is not wearing the Coronation Earrings!
