Royal Jewels

More Windsor jewels from the State Banquet! Note all participating royal ladies have finally been given the Family Order of Charles III!

The Princess Royal in aquamarines. I guess the politically correct way to refer to her jacket is vintage...

The Duchess of Edinburgh mixing and matching her blue stones - the convertible aquamarine tiara and GRAFF Nuage sapphires. HRH notably wore the earrings (and bracelet?) at the Coronation, but this si the first time we see her in the necklace.

No banquet is complete without the Duchess of Gloucester's effortless elegance!

I've got not one but two honourable mentions in one picture - The Prince of Wales and his escort for the night. The Princes of Wales is wearing the diamond set insignia of his orders for the very first time, while his companion (identified as Lady Hood is some sources) donned a mighty fringe tiara, collet necklace and stylised cross brooch.
I think that the fringe is the same one worn by Lady Sarah Keswick (one of Camilla's ladies in waiting) at the State Opening of Parliament.

Princess Birgitta of Sweden & Hohenzollern has passed away at the age of 87 in Mallorca :(
The Princess was the second eldest sister of King Carl XVI Gustaf and the only one of the Haga Princesses to retain her HRH after her wedding.

Exciting news from the Danish royal house!
the Rose-cut diamond parure from the crown jewels has been altered to suit modern times! The middle section of the rivière has been put on a newly-made frame for Queen Mary to wear as a tiara. This is the first time since the set was created in 1840 that the necklace has been set on a frame to suit the times.

I think Queen Mary was inspired by her counterpart and friend Maxima and we might actually see the tiara tonight during the Egyptian state banquet!

So exciting to see a new tiara!

The Danish Royal Family needs to look ahead on the tiaras because Isabella and Josephine will be wearing them soon!

I could easily see the Edwardian going to Isabelle. Maybe the Turquoise to Josephine?

Do you think Mary would pass her wedding tiara to the next generation? Or will it have too much sentimental value?

The "original magpie", aka Britain's Queen Mary, would've been proud for sure! Funny enough, she did play around with a diamond riviere from the estate of Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna, wearing it as a bandeau before she commissioned Gerrard's to create a sautoir in 1928.

just because i miss HM

And an honorable mention to Prof. Natasha Stallar, who wore an imposing tiara. Her husband is the Nobel Laureate in Medicine.

I am not feeling Madeline with the Cut Steel. I can't quite put my finger on it. Can't decide if it's the hairstyle or the hair color or the neckline on the dress with that tiara.

is it because it might look more beauty padgent to your eyes (no judgement intended )
we dont really have any sort of padgent culure here -long gone are the days when Miss NZ used to be on tv, we once had a MIss Universe who went on to marry a famouse All Black (NZ rugby national team)
wow she is so young here
1734461861825.jpeg
so i love the long hair with the dress, but now that i look at it i might see how some could see it paired wjth the cut steel, it might look padgent style
of course that cut steel has been along a lot longer than MIss USA/ miss NZ etc

ive been thinking about this @LadyMaria
both those tiaras were 'new' to the family and both are belong to Mary
they have no royal precedence so sentimentality could win out
but i would hope it would be a lifetime loan

different family but im worried about Anne's pine flower and the meander from Princess Alice, not just because i love both but because of how they got into the vault, from George vi and Philip's mum
i know that a granddaughter should have some history of her family but i want them to stay in the family not sold to pay the UK death tax
i still smart over the things the Kent's have sold and Margret's children too

Lorriane Downs, Miss Universe 1983! that was the height of my pageant watching hayday! She beat out Miss USA Julie Hyak.

I really think they need to go back to this Miss Universe crown. I hate what they do now with the sponsored crowns..Mikimoto, Diamond Nexus, Mowaad, and now the Jewelmer...it's a different crown every couple of years.

Nothing beats the Coventry Crown!
