When Princess Diana died my friends and i and like everyone i knew were so upset (Gary said he cried watching the funeral)
i went to the town hall and signed the book of condolence, i took daffodils to the memorial to Queen Victoria, that's where we placed our flowers in Dunedin, i made a donation at the bank to the Diana fund thing, i did buy the cd- (but didnt play it) and i brought one picture book -probably from the NZ woman's weekly
since then i have brought a few things from trade me (NZ EBay) or the charity shops for my royal collection i keep in the guest/cats' bedroom like a couple of frankly mint plates ($10), a plate i actually have on my bedroom wall of Diana with a 3-D white rose in the frame (a bit too tacky to go in the lounge) its an odd likeness -its the bradford exchange with i do not think is fine china
but some old nana loveingly had it in her china cabinet and when she downsized or died the family got ride of it
a Di themed memorial plate of Althorp -its just a picture of the house and grounds in B&W
anyway anyway i dont want you to think im a nutcase like some of the people you see on TV with their memorabilia
but yesterday my workmate had a look in the little Rotary club community book exchange in a box outside our work
im sure you have similar in your towns and cities where you all live
she came back with a Diana book for me
my fiend had just been complaining her tiktok feed on her phone has been sending her royal family news all week yet she has never once googled them-but on a saturday i fill her in on all the happenings and as a true friend out of the goodness of her heart she lets me prattle on
-usually about how wonderful Queen Cam is or how horrible a certain 2 are
is her phone spying on our conversation ?
my laptop often shows me stuff on my you tube feed that we have been talking about on PS
anyway where was this going ...?
oh year this is the book
it has lots of pretty pictures
i like the pictures better than the gossip
im looking through it for brooches ...
