Hi everyone,
I have just purchased a beautiful 6ct 0F554ABF-89E8-4BA8-9C23-80F7B9041641.jpegE47CFAB4-CEFC-47E1-9E64-05312159881D.jpegpink tourmaline and diamond ring made by Cerrone which is a very high end jewellery Boutique.
Would anyone know if this is a Rubellite or pink tourmaline.
Here are some photos in all lighting conditions

Thanks in advance
Wen

Rubellite for sure!!!!

I've spent hours poring over rubellite and pink tourmalines. I would definitely say yours is a rubellite.

It's gorgeous!!!!! Are you enjoying it?

Oh yes I am enjoying it. Only got it this morning. I bought it 2nd hand but it’s never been worn. They said they paid $18k AUD but who knows.
Also I just realised I had my camera setting on Vivid. Silly me. So the stone came out brighter in the pics. I have just taken another outside in normal setting and it’s overcast now. This is probably a more realistic colour of the stone. DA50E0E1-94BA-4854-AF76-0D321874CE68.jpeg

Still beautiful!!!!!

I went to check out the website and based on the other prices I'd say they were telling the truth!!!

Congratulations it's beautiful!

Rubellite and it is gorgeous!

Just to mention that I did notice at nighttime with down lights the colour did change a little more peachy not as raspberry red as in daylight. So if that means it’s just a pink tourmaline I’m ok with that too. I’m just mesmerised of how it looks and don’t want to180A4E9A-2815-401D-B557-991701BE0F1A.jpeg take it off even though it shouldn’t be worn everyday.

Love your collection!

Beautiful ring & beautiful collection! I agree that it's rubellite and I'd never want to take it off, either. :)

Actually, all red and pink Tourmaline is technically Rubellite, but I'm of the side that leans towards more red being called Rubellite.

So, yes, a Rubellite indeed.

Definitely rubellite! And is it ever a beauty!! :kiss2: Big congrats to you.

What we were taught at the GIA was that two main things differentiate rubellite from pink tourmaline. The stone must be fully saturated, and it must hold its color under any lighting. Pink tourmaline tends to "brown out" under incandescent lights. Rubellite should stay a vivid red/pink. I also agree that the stones which lean red are more aptly called rubellite. Much of the redder material is irradiated, so we do have to be careful of that. Enjoy!
