Year/s ago, I bought what I thought was a gorgeous hot pink sapphire over the interwebs. the color was great indoors, but faded to faint lavender in natural light. I studied and learned, vowed not to get taken again, but still love vivid color.

Found a Kashmir I liked a couple of years ago (my avatar) and came here for help. Guess it was good, because some PSers tried to buy it out from under me…

Currently, my heart was set on a ruby, one of the hardest gems to buy well. I have avidly read all of the threads here, and greatly appreciated the advice and wisdom shared. But still, I didn’t want to be cut out. So now that I have purchased my ruby, I want to share before and after, to add to the knowledge base. And to say thank you to all that have gone before.

Congratulations it’s stunning.
Excellent price too considering how expensive and popular Burmese rubies have become!
It’s shape is also “rare”, most are cushion / oval shape.

I was admiring your incredible Kashmir sapphire and hope that it wasn't a PSer who tried to buy it out from under you. Keep in mind that this is a public site and there are lurkers, who may or may not be PS members, who have done this (hence some choose not to post easily identifiable links until they decide or put a hold on things first). In the end, so glad you got your ring...it was meant to be!

That’s a good thought. I will from now assume it was a lurker, not a contributor. I certainly have gained more than I’ve lost from PS.

Update. The jeweler in Dublin couldn’t find the cert, so resubmitted it to a lab in London. Unfortunately the report came back as heated. He is refunding me.
