I posted my ring on the SMTR thread, but since I am a coloured gem lover through and through, I thought my ring would also be at home on this thread!

I recently got my sapphire solitaire engagement ring upgraded to become a three-stone sapphire and diamond ring! I just think that diamonds make such a great accent for the beauty of coloured gemstones, don''t you

The center stone is a .92 EC cut sapphire. It isn''t the greatest cut, but I love it because my DH picked it out all by himself way before I discovered price scope or started learning enything about coloured gems, and it is a beautiful, richly coloured stone in person. The side stones are .47ct and .49ct emerald cut diamonds, d-f colour, with very good cut.

I hope you like it!

Sorry the diamonds looks a little dirty... ECs really pick up dust! Good thing I got a US cleaner for Christmas! Here''s another picture with my diamond half eternity band.

Dreamer! I just saw this, wow we have the same ring! Your fiance has excellent taste! Can I ask, what is next to yours, between the Ering and your eternity? Very nicely done! really lovely blue. And again, your pup is super cute.

I just found this, too! Your rings are just beautiful! Blue sapphire is my favorite colored gemstone!

Hey swimmer, glad you posted! Our rings really are similar, eh?

Regarding your question: If you look at the pics posted below, you can see that my wedding band sits flush with my e-ring because there is a step cut out of the bottom of the basket of the e-ring that allows my 2mm wedding band to sit flush with my 2mm e-ring band. At first I wan''t sure if I liked the look (I can''t really wear my e-ring by itself this way b/c the step is only cut out on one side) but I love the look of flush bands and the rings are sooooo comfortable to wear, I hardly know they are there! The eternity band was actually my original wedding band, that I wore with my e-ring when it was still a split shank solitair (the wider band on the original e-ring made it possible to wear the eternity band flush with the solitaire EC e-ring). When I got the e-ring re-set and added the side stones, I thought that I just wouldn''t be able to wear my eternity band with my e-ring anymore, since the eternity band''s stones sit too high to fit into the step cut out of the e-ring basket and it looks weird with a gap. But then I noticed that if I use my new wedding band as a "spacer", then I can wear my etenrity band with my e-ring and there is no gap, and it actually looks like the eternity band is flush with the e-ring. Happy accident, though I prefer the look simpler look of the e-ring and thin band on its own.

Long answer to your question! But I thought that other people may be interested in the solution I found for the whole "emerald-cut-flush-sitting-wedding-band" conundrum.

Here''s a shot showing how the thin wedding band is also a spacer when I want to wear the eternity band

I see! What a clever way to solve that problem. Thank you so much Daschie for the photos. Your rings look gorgeous together. It makes sense to have a wedding band that you can wear solo but an ering that needs the band. I''m still just as muddled as before on what to do with the twin to your ring, went to a b+m place that makes bands to fit (spendy in platinum) but then the band would look silly without the ering. Yours is a fantastic set! thank you for sharing the inspiring sparklies.

Gorgeous. I love sapphires.

That is so classically beautiful! Stunning and elegant!

Ohh I love it with all the emeralds. Makes me rethink my general dislike for three stone rings for sure! Gorgeous!

I love three stone rings, and yours is gorgeous! That is cool the way your wedding band sits flush, love it!
