Sapphire engagement ring CAD model

this is an update to a previous thread and my boyfriend surprised me today with a 3D model of the ring he’s having designed by David Klass that I knew nothing about! I think I made the decision not to halo (I know, heresy. I just wanted a clean look that I can wear everywhere.). I’m having him lower it a tad and also fill in the little triangles on the side and have the side swoop up into the head (inspiration also attached). What do you think? Do my fat fingers eat it up? Does it look good? Anything worth changing? Thanks in advance! Also excuse my papers stacked up for work.

Thank you! I just wish I had long slender size 5 fingers.
The side stones will be pears! Around 0.20 ct from what I can tell. The triangles are the ones in the gallery. I want it to look fluid just coming up into the head. You know, solid, sleek, and fluid. I don’t even know if I’m making any sense!

That makes me feel better! I hate tight rings so I always size up to avoid muffintop on my finger. And I’m relatively young so all my jewelry is before I gained weight in college so I was slightly perturbed that my size had gone up from 7.5. Especially since everyone I know has delicate, <size 5 fingers. But I *think* I can visualize and I’m in love with the simplicity of it!

I think the wording is ok. My emails with David are full of me blundering around trying to make sense...and somehow, he gets it. I think you should share the inspo pic you shared above and the one that I made the arrows on. Together, those should be helpful in getting you what you want.

I gave the inspiration pic to my bf and he apparently already is on it and sent a “lengthy” email describing the changes. If he encounters confusion, he will probably tell me and we’ll send off the picture with the arrows. I can’t believe I didn’t think of doing that before!

Update! I have screen grabs from the final video and am totally in love. It’s low, I can wear it at work, and isn’t too chunky. I think I Love the way it swoops up into the head. Now I’m waiting, somewhat patiently, to see it in person! Let me know what you think!

My patience is probably going to evaporate if I figure out when it has showed up. The only thing that’s keeping me going is I’m 90% sure it’s going to be on my finger in the next 2 weeks! And thank you, I really wanted simple fluidity and and wearable piece that I don’t have to take off at work. I saw some work by Alastair Kelsey and loved his fluidity but not the chunkiness so I tried to pay special attention to it when I saw the DK cads! Ahhhh I’m so excited!

Thank you! I love it so much! Even when it’s shifty it’s got so much fire. I would never have found Roger without PS and I am so sold on buying from a cutter. One of my extended family won’t believe it isn’t lab created because “sapphires aren’t bright!”

Examples include: emeralds, blue sapphires, opals. Imagine my surprise when I found PS and the world of precision gem cutting and found out the pure BEAUTY possible from the ground!

I know! I thought the *best* someone could do for a sapphire was dark with flashes of blue. I’ve only ever seen those types in jewelry stores, even high end ones. But I somehow stumbled across PS and quickly saw that gems aren’t limited by B&M jewelry stores.

I got flowers for Valentine’s Day so you know I have to post them. Last pictures, I swear.

I will! I’m not sure what kind though. Something that doesn’t overwhelm the whole look. I have over a year to decide so I can be as indecisive as I want!
