So I''ve wanted an emerald RHR forever. But since I''ve proven to myself that I can''t have one (damaged other emeralds because they''re so soft) I''ve decided I want a blue sapphire - my second favorite.

Well, as picky as I am, I have not seen anything out there that I really want, and that could possibly fit my bufget. But then the other day I saw anchor31''s engagement ring (below) and said to myself that I would LOVE to have a sapphire ring with two east-west diamond marquise sidestones. Maybe a cushion cut or square sapphire (anything not elongated). But where can I get this? Does anyone know of a stock setting like this? Or perhaps can point me in the right direction for a custom job??

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

(also, thanks to anchor31 for her inspiration!)

Here's a couple with Calla Cut diamonds--similar to marquise--I love this cut!

I've purchased from this company before. They have a huge selection which I'm sure includes marquise side stones--didn't have time to sift through all their pages. Their website isn't the greatest, but they have great customer service. If you email them through the site with your budget etc. they will email you back with photos of what they have.

Also, what about pears?

Hope this helps!

I can vouch for Calla cut diamonds. They are very, very sparkly and similar to a fat marquis.

Thanks for your suggestions, coatimundi. I do love pears and callas, but I''m particularly drawn to the marquise here for its skinny look - almost like a really shapely, brilliant baguette. Ya know? I just thought it was really different. Perhaps I can have the band have an antique look to compliment my other jewelry.

I dunno - it was just a thought. At first. Now it''s an obsession.

What about tsavorite or green sapphire? Both are just gorgeous.

Yes! Those are great choices too, SDL! And I had thought about them I love tsvavorites. It''s a possibility - if I can get over my current obsession about blue sapphires, that is.

tberube, Here is a setting Blue Nile has with marquise side stones. I could definitley see a gorgeous blue sapphire as the center stone here.......
