Sapphires (again, another thread lol)

Thanks!
It will be here tomorrow so you know I will post dozens of pics!!!

It will very likely be set by CVB Inspired Design (caysie did my ER reset) but I will have to save up my pennies again before I send it off to her!

WOW that's quick! I can't wait to see your photos and your setting choice. Give us an idea of the setting once you've seen the stone, even though it may be a while before it's set.

Plain shank and plain gallery but with a chunky bezeled halo like her Magnolia ring.

It’s beautiful and how amazing it went on sale!!!!!

Can you imagine a 5 carat though! It would be huge! I am off to look at it!

I have a 4.12 carat sapphire for my engagement ring, it's big but not huge...5 carats is totally manageable :D Going to go look at these, thanks @whitewave!

I am a latecomer to loving sapphires, as the first ones I saw were those overly dark/black, included ones. I am kicking myself I didn't pick up more sapphires when they were reasonable in cost (5, 15 years ago?). Now when I see ones I like, have huge sticker shock!

Yes, I keep reading that the price has gone up dramatically in the last several years.

Gary received a UPS notification that "severe weather" between Georgia and Louisiana (what?!? There is none) has delayed my shipment until tomorrow. So I am headed to New Orleans some time tomorrow for Saints vs. Falcons on Sunday so it will either get here before I leave or one of my twins will accept it and I will see it late Sunday night.

Oh. Someone told me they see gray in this sapphire-- could someone circle it and show me so I can learn? Thanks.

I am not a "in search of perfection" person... I love imperfect stones-- shows they are real, and like people, "flawed" to a certain extent. Those who know my posts know I go to Crater of Diamonds often in search of diamonds, amethyst, peridot and garnet, so I am in awe of nature's surprises for us and the manpower it takes to find one (search my posts... I have been ten times and I have lots of water washed quartz and one guy gave me a light pink amethyst he didn't want).

I bought my asscher blind from Blue Nile with no pictures or asets... it is on the deep side and faces up smaller than others...you know what? It is the perfect stone for me and I love it to bits.

So I await this sapphire to see it if it is my stone. If not, I will keep working with Gary until we find one. I'm super patient when I have to be.... lol..

Boo hoo! Hopefully it gets to you before you leave!

So exciting!!! The color is just beautiful and I love that it's lighter than the typical color we see. I can't wait to see your pics. Sounds like it will get to you by Christmas. :D

I totally agree that imperfect stones are like people! We picked out the stone and my FI sent it to Tacori so the setting could be made. When he proposed, I could tell right away it was the stone we chose, with its unique color and cut characteristics, which I love. I love sapphires far more than diamonds.

Is it here yet?

Thanks, I can't wait to see it tomorrow in the sun.

It's going to have to sit a while in a safe place while I save up my pennies for Caysie.

Yeah, that would be a keeper for me - love its various personalities!

My heart quickened when I first saw it, so..... got happy and excited. That told me it was a keeper...

Could you stand a dozen more pics? These are: under CFL lights in kitchen in pendant fixtures (2). Then under LED lights. Then LED and spotlights. Then bathroom vanity lights.
