I am having a wedding on a Lake in September in Wisonsin. I would love to have a unique save the date to send out around the first of the year. Does anyone have any fun suggestions they can help me out with? Thanks!!!!

Hi Nikolsae,
I used an online company, they cards were inexpensive, but on nice heavy cards and for our garden wedding I think it got everyone excited...there are some water themed cards in here, but more beachy than perhaps you are after? But here is what we used that folks seemed to like: garden

I got so excited about figuring out how to hyperlink! forgot to say congratulations and enjoy the planning!

I saw in your other post that it''s Lake Geneva, beautiful choice! :) I''m also having a September wedding in Wisconsin, so I just wanted to pop in and say congrats and have fun with your planning!

Our save the dates are just a nice picture of us on one side, the info on the other in the form of a postcard. I''ve had them in my possession since early November, and while I have almost all of them addressed and stamped, I''ve been paranoid to send them out! I wanted to send them earlier since we have people further away, but the days keep slipping by while the postcards sit on our desk in the living room. I used moo.com to make my postcards, durin a promotion with free shipping. I now know there are cheaper alternatives that probably have more options to customize, but ours turned out beautifully and whatcha gonna do right? Anyways back to you :) What kind of save the date are you looking to do? A picture one? Postcard style? or more like a scaled back invite? Give me some more criteria and I can give you some examples I''m sure.

Thanks for responding!!! Good advice, I cant to view the sited you guys suggested!

Partyjewel, where are you guys getting married in WI? Lets cross our fingers for good weather in Septemeber... Our thought on save the dates is hopefully a picture of us by one of the Lake Geneva signs when you come into town. We thought it would be fun to do while snow was on the ground that way people can see two different seasons of the Lake! What do you think? On the back we want to put our website so people can get more details if they would like.

Let me here all about yours... and by the way Congrat''s to you also!!! :)

We're getting married in the Delafield area, and I hope we do get good weather here! I swear September used to be fallish outside already, but these past few years have been so summery still. But you never know, we could have a snow storm! So I'm definately hoping for good weather. I actually wanted to do a winter wedding but it's just so unpredictable that we didn't want to worry about our guests traveling. In any case, I think thats a great idea to take a picture in front of one of the signs whilst snow is still on the ground. Hopefully our weird weather will let you get a great shot in before it starts to melt again! (We're in Milwaukee and at least over here about half our snow melted away this past week, then we had a wind/snow storm that left powdered snow everywhere, not to mention it nearly ripped our back door off the frame!)

Also, in your thread about placement cards, I think little wooden boats would be good, though I'm not sure where you could find them, I'll keep an eye out and if I find something that might work for you I'll post it in your other thread. :)
