So I''m trying to get the Save the Date''s out of the way, and I could use some help on the wording!!

The amazing talented graphic artist who is helping us sent us the sample with the wording like this:

Please save the date of October 4th,
2008 for the wedding of

October2008bride and Mr. October2008bride

They will get married. It will be
very classy and
you will have a great time.
Or at least a really good time.
Really.

I thought it was really cute, but FI didn''t think it was that funny. Which is fine!

Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can word it? I like the ones where they are kind of cute (i.e. xxxxx and xxxxx are getting hitched!).

We are getting married in Toronto, Ontario.

Thanks for your help!!

Nyeh...I am not a fan. Some of your guests won''t be sarcastic people, and they won''t get it/will be offended.

What about--

Save the Date!

Oct2008 and Mr2008

are getting hitched on

Oct 4 2008

in Toronto

You bring your coats, and we''ll bring the party!

(ok this is based on your sending a STD to people who I am assuming are out of town/farther south, and it being cold in toronto in october?)

Hahaha! That''s great! Funny thing is that this year on October 4 it was 28 degrees or something! (82 degrees in your language ;-)

I like the idea though...maybe "You bring your dancing shoes, and we''ll bring the party!" or something?!

Thanks for your input!

I was having a hard time with ours so we ended up just putting it simply:

WE''RE TYING THE KNOT!

Please save the date

I like what rainbowtrout recommended. Or you could say "You bring your dancing shoes and we''ll bring the party!"

In my opinion the STD kind of sets the mood for the wedding... I think fun is good, but you still want to let people know its a classy affair... it is YOUR WEDDING after all! But I am all for the witty save the dates! Let us know what you decide on~
