I know it's pretty boring by PS standards these days...
I wanted something really classic but not boring - something that would stand the test of time - and something fairly simple and clean.
I love the contrast of the high polish sides with the bead set stones and milgraining.

That''s EXACTLY what I love most about it too!

Some Daniel K rings and Tiff rings are like that too. CLASSY with a kapital k.

I also love the low, tasteful setting (sometimes I wish mine was a tish lower set) Boring? Blashphemy!! I can''t think of a word less apt to describe that elegant, breathtaking, sleek, gorgeous setting.

I feel like my Leon is the only one you all aren't going to like.
That's part of the reason it took me so long to post it.
Truth be told - I'm not super happy with the way the basket/head turned out.
I'm also having issues with the finish/polish in some areas - specifically inside the arms of the cathedral, for lack of better words. I can see a couple spots where there are groove marks from a thin file that have been polished over. I'm not sure if that's too nit-picky - and just part of a hand made piece. I'm trying to just accept it.

I really love your ring! I A very, very romantic proposal. I hope your issues with the ring go away, although I can totally sympathize with the workmanship issues you are having. My ring was PERFECT the first time, but after that the workmanship was TOTALLY awful. In any case, from the pics, all I see is beautiful! Maybe you can get some macro shots of it, and the people on the forum will tell you if it''s actually issues, or if you''re being picky.

In any case, enjoy this wonderful time!

No way. Yours is the first setting made there that looks somewhat like a semi mount (which is not). So the look is different - but then, there is no 'Leon Mege' look because all orders are custom.

The ring reminds me of the ones from Precisionset - 'guess both you and those guys went to some length to insure rings and bands fit together. And the resulting look came out similar. Between yours and the Precisionset rings there is quite a bit of distance, IMO, in favor of yours

Well, they do not show in the picture. If anything, 'hand made' should be better, not worse.

I would never call your ring boring! I don''t see anyone in the real world that has any of the gorgeous rings we see here! Looks like a wedding band will fit well with it too.

Having a custom piece done is more than a little heartwrenching - and for the time and price it cost, you should be happy. There''s usually something that "coulda" been better (which shouldn''t be the case but usually is), but if it''s something that''s really bothering you, you should address it for sure.

Second, your ring is NOT boring, it''s gorgeous and we wouldn''t tell you it was if it wasn''t. I recall seeing a Leon ring that was a simple solitaire, with no melee or anything at all, and that certainly wasn''t boring, so how could yours be? Smack smack for holding out on us for so long.

Congratulations!! The ring is absolutley beautiful, but if there are any issues bothering you, do bring it up with Leon.

Handmade rings are by nature not perfect though, if I look closely enough, one side of my MM ring is a hair higher than the other. It''s never bothered me though, I take it as ''proof'' that the ring was handmade. So, if it''s something you can''t live with, talk with Leon and see whether it can be improved.

OMG. I am absolutely in love with that ring. It is so beautiful! Personally I think those Leon''s on the website are gorgeous but unrealistic for many. Your ring is something beautiful to be worn every day. Am just loving it.

Both of your proposals were so sweet & touching. It sounds like you have a keeper there.

Secondly, I think your ring is gorgeous. It''s classic & elegant, but somewhat subtle as well. Not boring in the least! I agree with Boom that handmade rings are not, by their nature, perfect. (mine is not, but I love it!) I think that''s a little part of what makes them so special & adds a bit of vintage flair. But, if you are truly not happy with some of the details, you should tell Leon. You should be 100% happy with your ring. It looks gorgeous to me....

And I thought Leon showed a lot of versatility by doing something less ornate. I love his other designs as well, but I sort of favor yours because it''s understated but beautiful!
