Hi there! I''m just checking to see if anyone here sold their dress after the wedding, or is considering doing that?

Too sentimental?

Too hard to sell?

Thoughts?

Thanks!

I was going to, but now I really don''t want to! I didn''t think I''d be so sentimental about it, but I love it and don''t want to get rid of it!

I''m giving mine away to a charity...haven''t figured out which one yet...but going to donate it.

I figure I''ll never wear it again...might as well give someone else a chance!

i have the same question- curious about the responses
i think i am going to have mine cleaned, not preserved, and see what time tells.
right now i feel too emotional about it, but after a few months i may feel differently.

i purchased my veil from another bride, and she was so thrilled that it got to have a "2nd life"- it does sort of seem a shame to keep such a beautiful thing hanging in the closet

if you are inclined to sell, i would check out preownedweddingdresses.com

I was ready to sell mine right after the wedding, but my mom and husband talked me into holding onto it. I finally won the argument and I did sell it a few months ago, about 5 1/2 years after the wedding. If I had sold it right away I would probably have made more money off it, but oh well. I did keep my veil and tiera, I figure my daughter/sisters etc. could get more use out of one of those than a dress.
