Has anyone had experience or heard about experience selling their wedding dresses, etc. on IndieBride.com using the trousseau feature? (http://www.indiebride.com/trousseau/index.html)

If this site gets enough traffic, it may be the way to go-- it only costs $10 to post your entry!

This site is cool and definitely one to add to my list of internet resources.

I have to ask-and this goes for ALL selling sites
Do people not think of what''s going to sell before they post it? I get a kick out of the dresses from the 80s and early 90s. I feel bad though because I can''t imagine they''re ever going to sell.

I have been to that site a lot actually, although I have no idea how much traffic it gets. But, I think I''m going to post Dress #1 there when I get it cleaned up enough to sell.

I''ll let you know how it turns out!

No advice on IndieBride''s trousseau feature, though I love the webpage, but another comment on all selling sites:

I''m a little surprised at how many people try to sell things for close to what they paid. I know you want to get your money back, but for a $50 to $100 difference on something that costs hundreds of dollars, I''m gonna go buy the dress from the store. That way I know its new and don''t have to worry about shipping/getting screwed by a seller/etc.

I''m also amused when people advertise the dresses as "only worn once!" Yeah, its a wedding dress, thats not exactly surprising.

Good luck selling your dresses misysu2 and karasue91!

I think what's funnier is the amount of money they ask for! Some of them are insanely expensive, considering the dress. I've seen 80s dresses on Ebay being sold for $20-50, but on some of these dress selling sites the seller asks for over $500. You could buy a fabulous dress at the store for that kind of money, that is contemporary, with the times and hasn't been previously-enjoyed.
