I think it''s been a month since I was last on here, I''ve been really busy!

We have set a date, 10.10.10 and so far we have booked the reception and the church. We still need to get a priest to co-officiate along with my reverand, hopefully that will happen soon.

I have a question about when I should go shopping for a dress. I am thinking in August because I want my Maid of Honor to go, but lives far away and will be back home in August. I just don''t want to be cutting it too close. I am also not excited about going shopping for a dress because I am afraid it will be a frustrating experience.

I am a little lost about what to do with bridesmaid dresses too because I was also hoping to go shopping for those in August, but one of my bridesmaids will be about 5 months pregnant at that time. I could go now with her, but again, I really think my Maid of Honor should be there.

In other news, I had a job interview this morning, and I really hope to get an offer, they will make a decision early next week. Wish me luck!

Congrats on setting your date!!!!!!!! Just wanted to say, It is never too early to start looking for a dress. I'd start now.

ETA: and one of my bridesmaids was 8 1/2 months preggers on the wedding date. We waited as long as we could so she could order her dress and get it altered. (She ordered 9 weeks before the wedding - dress came in 6 weeks, and she had it altered. She ended up w/ an empire style, in same color and length as the other girls, and since she was HUGE it didn't really matter to me that she didn't "match" the other girls. She was standing out anyway with the huge baby bump. It worked out just fine.)

Congrats on setting the date! 10.10.10 is an exciting date!

You know, August (14 months) should be plenty of time. But, on the other hand, it''s never too early. I went wedding dress shopping for the first time today (also a fall 2010 bride, no date set yet). I found a couple of beautiful dresses, but I''ll definitely keep shopping for a while and won''t be making a decision until my mom has a chance to come with me later this year.

You could always scope things out by yourself or with your BM and then have your MOH help you make a decision a little further down the road.

I think that August is plenty of time and definitely not cutting it fine-it normally takes about 5 months for the dress to come in. I only went dress shopping 7 months in advance as I wanted to wait until the next seasons dresses were out and I was afraid of picking my dress only to see a nicer one closer to the wedding. Start getting some pictures of dresses that you like together now.

Congratulations for your 10-10-10 wedding

, I think one year its not to much time considering that you have not clue in what do you want to wear for the big day

Congratulations on your engagement! I don''t think August would be cutting it too close. Most dresses need to be ordered 5 months ahead. Plus time for alterations. You should be absolutely fine. It''s so fun shopping for dresses.

Thanks ladies! I think I will wait a little longer to go, and if i decide not to go until august, it sounds like I would be fine.

I think August is plenty of time. I am getting married in Sept. and I bought my dress in Sept. 08. Plenty of time. However, since you do not know what you want, do you have an idea of what styles you think look good on you? By August I would at least have an idea of a few dresses that you want to try on otherwise I think it may take you a lot longer to find something that you love on you. Looking at a ton of dresses prior to shopping really helped give me an idea of what I wanted so that I wasn''t wasting a ton of time shopping.
