OK, they''re not secret. But it feels like our little secret!
He hasn''t proposed yet -- it''s coming this month or next, I hope!

I can''t take pics with flash... it''s so sparkly it''s blurring all the photos. So I''m trying macro in dim lighting with no flash, but I''m not good at this at all!

When you take pics in macro, you don''t get the whiz bang rainbow sparklies. But with sparklies, it''s a blur! Where''s the compromise? I''ll have to wait for sunlight, I guess! How do you do it???

Try taking pics with natural light without a flash. Either go outside or next to a window. Experiment outside in bright sunlight and in indirect or shaded sunlight, see what works best. For macro pics, make sure you have plenty of light. Also, to prevent blurry macros, try using a tripod (or table, countertop, etc.) and place your hand on a steady surface (wall, table, chair, whatever).

Oh, and be sure to post a lot of pics. We won''t get tired of seeing them, I promise!

It's hard to capture the fire -- in the photos it looks more like a BIC but it's a FIC.

Thank you for the lovely comments! It's a GIA F, not sure what the clarity is but it's totally eye clean to me and with a loupe... It's between 2.5-3 carats. I'm almost positive it's 2.75 but I have to check... the GIA cert is in the safety deposit box.
