I already purchased a pair of gold heels for my wedding, but I''m worried about how my feet will feel towards the end of the night. So I''d like something flatter - a pair of ballet flats, ideally, or a ~1" heel. In gold or ivory. But they need to have a strap, either across the foot or on the ankle, or else they''ll fall off my ridiculously narrow heels. Oh, and I''d like to spend <$50, preferably around $30 or so.

Any ideas?

Don''t laugh, but I find most shoes from Payless amazingly comfortable. And every pair of shoes I''ve ever bought from there has lasted me at least 2 years.

That said, here''s a pair of gold ballet flats. I know Payless makes shoes in narrow and wide, but it looks like this style comes only in regular. If you like them, you should double check on that.

Basil, I have the exact same problem as you. I swore off regular pumps because I could NEVER find them to stay on my skinny heels. BUT, I just went shoe hunting yesterday, and lo and behold I found some Nina''s that fit. They didn''t have them in the right color, but I''m going to order them from Nordstrom''s website. They''re a little high for you, but don''t give up hope about the heel thing!

Can''t you put those foot petals grippy things in the heels? I know people who swear by them.

DF, I can only speak for myself on this, but I have the problem bad enough that the heel grips don''t do squat. I''ve purchased more of them than I care to admit in my attempts to make a classic pump work for me.

I too have ridiculously narrow heels so I can never find shoes that fit just right. I love classic pumps but nothing I do to them makes them stay on my foot! I found a pair of pumps that I would've loved for the wedding, they made me feel so sexy, but they had no strap and for my wedding day that was a must for comfort and not loosing my shoes!

If I was going to wear flats I was going to wear the Sketchers 'Biker' style. I had the pair I wanted all picked out and everything, but found a pair of heels that I couldn't pass up that fit right. :)

Anyways, I have two pairs of these that I wear almost nonstop when the weather is warmer. They're really comfortable and come in so many different colors/patterns/etc. I believe Robbie wore the lacy looking ones for her wedding if I'm not mistaken.

This is an example of one of the "Biker" styles I'm talking about, because they have many It's more than you said you wanted to spend (around $30), but you can definitely wear these for more than just your wedding.

Yeah, I definitely can''t wear flats (or pumps or any shoes) without a strap. I''ve tried heel pads and everything, but the only thing that keeps shoes on my feet is if my foot is squished in. Like 1.5 sizes too small. Not comfy. So no pretty D''orsay shoes for me

CrownJewel - those payless ones would be perfect if only the strap were father back. Darn!

I''m so glad I''m not alone here! I have the same problems and nothing I do works!

Wow! I''m so glad to hear there are other gals out there with freakishly narrow heels! I can''t keep shoes on my feet to save my life, which being the natural klutz that I am, stepping out of my shoes all of the time certainly doesn''t help!

I will be having whatever shoes I end up wearing for my wedding securely attached to my feetsies! (Doesn''t mean I won''t still end up on my butt that day, but it''s definitely worth a try!)

The only ones I found in the price range are:
http://www.dillards.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=301&langId=-1&storeId=301&productId=501262283&view=20&No=360&N=1590169&searchUrl=%2Fendeca%2FEndecaStartServlet%3Fview%3D20%26No%3D360%26N%3D1590169&R=02745626

I personally find some of the budget brands like target but especially payless to be very uncomfortable so if you go that route, really wear them around the store.
