Should I recut my big marquise to an oval?

Thanks Sphene, it is a 2.67 green emerald cut sapphire that I had David Klass set in my original wring. I have a thread about it in colored stones I think. Thankfully my husband talked me out of selling my beloved watch

Glad I read through the replies to see that you decided against it. If you had pursued it, I would only recommend GOG as it would have to be recut by someone like Yoram who cuts antique style stones. I would have advised against it just due to it not being an ideal shaped oval, although it would have solved your problem of the long pointed ends. Best to start over with a new diamond!
