Hi there. This is my first post. My dh & I are celebrating 25 years of marriage, and we had a three stone ring made. The mounting is vintage, and the band is new. I am unsure what to pair with it, and my current wedding band doesn't look great. My ring is mixed metal with a yellow gold band and vintage white heads.

Can we see some photo's - hand shots? That would help with advise.

Welcome to PS and congratulations on your anniversary and your new ring. It is beautiful! I really like the thinner band with your ring but it looks a bit out of proportion as your engagement ring shank is wider than the band. Is there any way that the person that made your ring could make a band for it? They know the width of the shank and could maybe match your ring better than trying to find a ready made band.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I'm not sure a custom band is an option. I ordered some thin custom fit bands to see if that will raise it up some. The shank of my ring has a small amount of milgrain detail, so I ordered a couple with that to see how it looks. I think I'll know it when I see it, but I know that what I have doesn't work.

Finding a band can be difficult - I think we have all experienced it - unless you have a very plain shank. I have a three stone ring that I finally paired with a channel set diamond band. That find didn't happen overnight either. You are headed in the right direction though - you just have to keep trying them on until you find one that completes 'the look'. Your ring is really pretty though so in the meantime you have a beautiful distraction from the frustration!

I love the plain band with your ring. It looks beautiful! Love your ring! Happy happy anniversary! Did you see Soxfan's post about her new Tiffany Metro? That style of band would look awesome with your ring as well.
Love your name! Luv2sparkle quilts too!

Congrats on your anniversary! Beautiful rings!

Thank you all for your kind words. I just checked out the Tiffany Metro, and that looks great. I hadn't thought to go two tone on the band, but that is one I would certainly consider. I would like whatever I choose to be in keeping with a vintage feel, so that might rule the metro out. I'm not sure. I had ordered some engraved bands but the 2mm band was a different shade of gold and looked off to me, and the 4mm band was too wide I think. The comfort fit rings I ordered will have a bit of milgrain detail which might be nice.

First, congratulations on your 25th anniversary! I love your new ring and I understand the issue you're having with your band since I went through the same thing not too long ago. I think a plain band looks great, but you need it to be symmetrical with your engagement ring. I'm one of those people that needs symmetry too. The wedding band can be the same width as your e-ring or narrower, whatever you prefer. I think the width you have now is fine. It's the height of the wedding band that's off and that's what is bothering you. It makes the e-ring stick out further than the wedding band. After trying to find a matching band for months I ended up having a wedding band custom made to the same height as my e-ring and it fit perfectly. I used e-wedding bands and they were very reasonable in cost and great to work with. They were recommended to me by someone on price scope. Good luck!

kmaria you hit the nail on the head! I was hoping that perhaps a comfort fit band would have more height. I would love to see your ring. Is it posted somewhere? We just hit our budget with my three stone ring, so I'm wanting to avoid spending a lot if I can get away with it. I may look at some of the vintage jewelry stores in town and see what they offer. Custom sounds expensive, and I don't want hubby to think I'm wanting more as I am thrilled with my ring.

IMG_0256.JPG I just took a quick pic so you can see the rings together. I've since upgraded my diamond so this is just a temporary placeholder centre. I did my band in platinum and I think cost was around $500. Gold would be even less and they did a great job.

Your ring is beautiful!

I agree that the wedding band has to be the same height off the finger so it will look right. I have a feeling you may have to have one made. I would probably have the band on your 3 stone ring replicated as a wedding band, and then it will really match!

kmaria your set is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing. I am open to having something made in the future. I visited a different jewelry store yesterday and found a band I like. What are your thoughts?

I really like it. I don't mind that in this instance, the width and height of the wedding band is not the same as the engagement rings shank. Also the wedding band looks darling on its own

That is perfect!

So I visited the antique shop today and found a ring that has the same design as my band (or very close). I would love your feedback.

Seeing the photos up close, I think it is likely a near miss, but I'd love to hear thoughts.

I like the thinner band with diamonds the best! What a find - you are so lucky to have found something that would match so well! What do you think about the pairing?

I like the one that looks like it almost matches!

I vote thinner band with diamonds

I prefer the thinner band too...

Welcome to PS! :wavey:

Congratulations to you and your husband on your 25th!
Your three-stone ring is beautiful.

I love the thin band with diamonds!
It looks great with your three-stone!

Although the wider, engraved band seems similar to the band of your three-stone, the width of it seems like a distraction from your three-stone, rather than a complement to it.

Just my opinion, of course.

I really appreciate folks weighing in. It means a lot. As much as I like the vintage one, I'm not sure it is right, and my sweet dh isn't around to offer his opinion, so I'm going to wait on it and see what else I can find. The thin one with diamonds is not vintage, so there isn't a huge hurry to decide on that one. I like that one except for the diamonds. I really prefer no stones I think.

IMG_8721.JPG I bought a 1mm wedding band to go with my e-ring. I didn't want anything bulky and I didn't want anything to compete with my e-ring. It's a 1.16 AVC (1.53 w/traps) and i have a size 7 finger

I really like that 2ndchance. Thanks for sharing.

I really like that 2ndchance. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome! I see such gorgeous sets on this and other sites but, I prefer simplicity for myself. :)

I really like both, but given the choice would personally go for the thinner band.

I really like the thinner band with diamonds. :wavey:

Another vote here for the thinner band with diamonds
