I''m a february baby (actually, a groundhog baby, to be precise

) and I''m now looking for a birthstone necklace. So, I''m interested in seeing anything you guys may have!

Can you also post where you got yours, if you would? I''d be so grateful!

Hope to it!!

I''m a few days after you on the 4th!!! I don''t have any amethyst necklaces, just this ring! I got it a long time ago from a local jeweler, but since it is yellow gold, I don''t wear it any more. Guess I need to either get it re-set or rhodium plated...

Hi Nebe, even though I''m not a February baby I just love the rich purple color of amethysts! I''m so lucky in that on one of my hubby''s Asia trips he brought home an entire set of amethysts. The earrings were studs which I never wore so I had them reset into danglies. I have no idea as to the carat weights other than that of the pendant, which is 10ct. Here is the pendant.......

Here is the ring and bracelet.....

Here''s my amethyst pendant. It''s pretty small but I like it. (it''s my son''s birthstone).

About 1 ct amethyst bezel set in white gold, yellow gold bale with 3 teensy diamonds. I wear this a lot when I wear green shirts. It really makes the purple pop.

Catmom that bracelet is just beyond words!! Do you know anything about the stones? Where they''re from and things of that nature.

Aw, thanks everyone! I love all the pieces posted!! I guess I should have been born in February.

Nebe, my husband bought the amethyst set in Korea in a very small family owned jewelry store. It is owned by a couple and the husband custom makes the jewelry and the wife works the counter. They specialize in amethyst, topaz, jade and other gemstones. LOL, she has become quite familiar with my husband and if she sees him coming down the street she will run out of the store to greet him.

ETA: I'm sorry but I don't know the carat weight of the bracelet. They are oval stones and are 7mm x 5mm each and there are 23 of them in the bracelet. The ring is also an oval stone that is 10mm x 8mm.

Michelle, your amethysts are so beautiful!

Had the amethyst I had set into my great grandmother''s e-ring looked like yours, I would not have had the urge to change it. Perhaps I should have an amethyst RHR ring made, if I can find a stone close to what you have! Come to think of it, I have an empty platinum 3 stone setting that is just waiting to be filled

Thank you Omieluv!! Filling that empty setting sounds like a great idea!! Not to thread jack or anything, but how is Omie doing? I hope she''s totally healed!

A quick question....How do you clean your amethyst??

My jeweler has his own cleaner and he makes sure I have a constant supply, LOL. I dip an old, soft baby toothbrush in the mixture and lightly scrub the pieces then rinse well. I dry with a soft cloth and do a final dry with my hairdryer. They come out sparkling.

Your amethysts are so pretty and will serve as an example for me when working on the 3-stone...not sure exactly what I want to do, but when the time is right, I will start a thread!! I will look into filling the 3-stone after my great grandmother's e-ring is finished. Wink is sending the aqua very soon, so I will be sure to take pictures of it when it comes.

Oh yes, I did not know amethysts need a special cleaner, that is good to know too, thanks for sharing!

As for Omie, she is doing quite well. We are going to take her in for her follow up in early March. Geesh, now I think I am guilty of thread jacking!!

This is a REALLY bad picture but it is the only one I have on my computer. It is about the size of a dime.

I can''t seem to attach it. Anyone else having a problem attaching photos?
