Here is my grandma's wedding band. It's engraved with their initials and the date 1934. It's 10k, but looks platinum to me. It's a very tiny size 5 dainty ring.

HA! So much for white gold yellowing. I pick white gold myself...that looks beautiful and white

Yes and I even had one of the tiny diamonds replaced about ten or twelve years ago and they never plated it or anything.

That is the link for the ring I just gave to my gf.

It's an antique-style cross prong from Dirt Cheap Diamonds.

Bellisima!! What a Lovely ring! How wonderful is it to have a ring with such meaning!! I second that- i love white gold and jewelers are telling me it will need plating every year or 2. I love how it looks brighter
than plat.

Keep the pics coming! I will post my new find tomorrow nite -
a vintage style set!

I'm not sure about the plating. My mother's engagement ring is 14K white gold. She's worn it every day with lots of wear and tear (and I mean LOTS- she's only taken it off for kneading bread and when in the hospital) for 45 years, it's never been re-plated and doesn't look like it needs it either.

I found this one a long time ago. Unfortunately it is not mine, but I LOVE IT~!

Wow

Simply Gawjus!!! That is bellisima! I saw a 1.60 L Color Old Mine Cut
and it was yellow, but I Loh-ove the cut! I like how the facets are larger and the diamond looks big.

I was told that an OMC had the cutlet cut off and then the OEC they kept the cutlet to maximize brilliance.

Post some more white gold beauties!!!

I love my new wedding set.  Not sure if it's from the 40's or 50's... if anyone could tell me...

This is 1/2 carat total weight and the diamonds are Mega White in color and full of life!  This set outshined all of the diamonds i saw today
even under the best "diamond lights" at the jewelers!!

I had it resized and my jeweler added a ton of gold to the bottom and made it thicker, basically a whole new ring!!  (he only charged me
$55 for both rings!!!)  He also polished it up making it sparkle even more than before!

The funny thing is, I'm in the market for a new diamond ($8k budget)
and i got this set for under $325  (including resizing) and it is my Favorite
look so far!  It makes me very happy to look at it and have a very white look and sparkle! I always wanted a matching set!  HHmmm $8 thousand dollars VS $325.00 - no comparison, right?

Ninteen years ago my hubby (then bf) gave me his great aunt's .6 (H VS2) OEC white gold filagre ring for our engagement. He wanted me to have the stone reset so it would be truly "mine." We've kept the setting and replaced the stone with a lovely garnet.

Just recently I had a new setting made for the stone. The head on my original setting really obscured the beauty of the stone. I took my great-grandmother's yellow gold wedding band and had that made into a beautiful contour setting with a new medium set fine pronged head. Now it will really be a "family heirloom" when we give it to our daughter. I have a nice pic but I can't get the file to upload.

I made an interesting discovery while getting my nails done this last week. I never noticed before, but the stone has a pretty medium blue fluoresence. Boy, now I know that a stone with fluor is a plus, not a minus!
