Show Me Your Asscher Eternity/Anniversary Bands!

It's going to look beautiful, I love the idea behind it, the stones, your design idea. I'm really looking forward to seeing it!

I’m super excited! Taking baby steps. Once the diamonds arrive, I’m taking them to my jeweler, and we’ll discuss the next steps...
I’ll put the money together to get the next phase of this project started: design, and production.
I just can’t wait to see these stones! The suspense is killing me...lol!!

Exciting!! :D

This will be the longest night eveeeeeerrrr lol

I’m super excited! Taking baby steps. Once the diamonds arrive, I’m staring at them and playing with them for hours in all sorts of lights going 'oooooh' and completely losing track of time before reluctantly taking them to my jeweler, and we’ll discuss the next steps...
Edited for accuracy ;-) LOL

I do love the tiny diamonds at the curve of each “u” in the photo, above. Very delicate, and adds a little sparkle to the profile, but doesn’t distract from the main attraction.
I didn't even notice those! What a great idea :) You'll have to see if you can get some ideal cut melee - although I'm not sure if it's possible, going from a thread the other day!

Just thinking - are you considering getting them graded by GIA or AGS while they're loose?

Just thinking - are you considering getting them graded by GIA or AGS while they're loose?

That’s a good question. I asked Yoram about this, when we were discussing everything, and he told me that they don’t send stones this size out to labs for grading; it takes longer. He graded them, himself, so I was going to use his grading for appraisal purposes, unless you think it would be wise to send them out for GIA/AGS certification?

This is a screenshot of his answer to my question re: Lab Certification.
If it’s an unnecessary expense, I’d rather just use his grading info...

Bump!!! :lol-2:

Does this mean you have an update??

I’ve quietly followed your project, those stones are divine!! I wish I had long slender fingers to be able to carry a large step-cut eternity band! I can’t wait to see the finished piece!

@Matthews1127

Do tell, any updates on your band?
It is going to be gorgeous

I met with Mary, my jeweler, yesterday. We spoke generally about some concerns I have about insuring the stones, while they are in their care. I feel more comfortable about the process, as likely, they will not only insure the stones, while they have them, should something crazy happen during setting, but they will keep the stones there for the entire process; they don’t want to send them anywhere to one of their vendors for any part of the process. I was relieved because I want them to be in one place from start to finish. I will be scheduling an appt with her to bring them in, and sit with both her and the designer to get started on this project, and to figure out cost.
I’m starting to get excited....lol!!!

Can't wait to see the outcome! Keep us updated

I just saw this thread and am really looking forward to seeing the final result! Also, what a great fun to be able see the asschers loose. I had the privilege to see my asschers loose too, will never forget the look of those lovely rainbows.

Thank you @EC8 and @foxinsox for your lovely comments re my band! I really recommend triangular prongs for asscher bands, but taste is personal of course. I do want to add though the importance of making sure you can clean the stones easily! Asschers look really dull when dirty. My band is quite hard to clean even with an ultra sonic cleaner.

That is so true I clean mine every 2 days if wearing frequently I've recently had the privilege & funds  to purchase my first solitaire Asscher from an estate sale via auction I will post when I receive it - currently being resized here is the catalog image I am so excited!2992936_1.jpg

So, is it ready yet? ;))

In the meantime, and as a distraction, I'm going to post some links to (what I think are) some awesome asschers I've found on JA - as there's no 'Someone's gotta buy this stepcut' thread (and perhaps there shouldn't be, so as to not make it super-easy for individuals or companies to snaffle up all the decent ones!!), I thought you would appreciate them if no-one else, @Matthews1127 ;-) :D

So...

Carré style!

Love the 4-step crown that gives the thinner faceting look :)

Remarkably bright!

But if you're feeling flush...

Size over cut quality, methinks... lol

Huge and actually a remarkably well-cut rock, from what I can tell!

Ignore all those, though, as this, to me at least, looks incredible  - 4-step crown giving thinner faceting, crazy fire from all angles (!!), super-lively at all times, and what looks to me like the hall-of-mirrors effect working really well - I think the only issues might be the laser etching of the GIA number reflecting in the pavilion, but that might be able to be hidden if mounted with that side against a bezel or tension-setting 'arm', and the slight tilt-windowing!
https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/asscher-cut/5.02-carat-e-color-if-clarity-sku-3080284

If I had a spare quarter-of-a-mil' for that last one, I'd be all over it like a rash  How is it so firey?!

Perhaps @Dancing Fire and @kenny might want to club together and buy it for me as a present?

@OoohShiny!!! That last one is off. the. chain!!! 5ctEIF?!? Gah!!! :eek2: I really don’t mind the reflection of the cert #; my EC does that, too, and it’s just fine by me...lol!!
That’s such a beautiful Asscher!!! To have a budget to afford that rock would be a dream come true!!! :loopy:

Just stumbled on this - not an eternity band but a great video of carré cuts!
