More peonies!

oooh YEAH!! going to the florist on saturday too. soo excited. i loooooove flowers and am going to be INCREDIBLY picky about this!!!

oh my wedding colors are champagne and deep red. i wanted to do plain white and lime green hydrangeas, but i think it''s too springy for a fall wedding. my bouquet will be completely white and BMs will be completely red. all flowers will be mostly roses and orchids. i defintiely want a slight cascade to my bouquet. it may be a little dated but i think it really sets the bride apart.

here are some pictures i''ve gathered!! i''ve decided against callas (fiance thinks they''re "weird") but some of these include them.

this will most likely be BM bouquets.

this will most likely be my bouquet, minus those little feathery greens and no gardenias.

Love your flower pictures!!!

My wedding colors are going to be white and red.
I love the red roses for a bouquet but the white peonies are sooooooo gorgeous.

hey! a fellow white and red bride! my champagne color (the color of the BM dresses) is such an unusual color (it''s more like a taupe, very light tannish brown with a silver pearl like quality, and slightly iridescent) that i had no idea what to do with flowers. pure red bouquets came up as the answer, since all white would mean just white flowers present anywhere.

your''e right, those white peonies are just delicious. they would look so gorgeous with my dress since most of my dress is organza. very light, airy, and romantic. augh!! choices choices!!!!

My new favorite soda is Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper!

This is my dream bouquet.

Deep red peonies (my fave too, lmurden), french blue anemones and pink baby callas. Sigh...
I have to find and schedule an officiant, then flowers will be my last big project. I really hope I''ll be able to find someone who can recreate this beauty for me.

lollybear,

that is simply just beautiful enough for me to abandon my current color scheme.

HONESTLY! ahhh!!!! BM dresses are already bought, noooo....

and LM, mine too!!! i thought diet vanilla coke was the coolest thing when it first came out, and now there''s lime (yum) and that vanilla cherry dr. pepper is to die for. mmm. i need to go out and buy some right now.

Hey girls - no idea yet on the colors, but a few possibilities are burgundy and green, or lavender and green or maybe just green, in any case paired with ivory and some silver accents and possibl with the lavender dark purple accents as well. So many options and so long to decide. Here are some of my favorite flower ideas from my knot bio, hopefully these work...

Lollybear, I like those too. I like the pics of flowers with purple in them. I guess that means I should have purple in mine :)

Lolly it looks like those green twining vine flowers are lisianthus or similar....I think the bouquet would be most beautiful if you definitely keep those in there as well. Lovely!

I loved looking for bouquets when I was planning, especially given I am a gardener. I found my tastes changed alot from the first bouquet I loved to what we ended up with. I also had to take into consideration what felt more 'appopriate' for the surroundings...aka in Hawaii I didn't feel right using things like tulips and daffodils, hehe.

I modeled mine somewhat after a fave from a website photography picture...I had basic stipulations on what I wanted (aka dendrobium orchids along with that big orchid I can't recall the name of now....and small green filler for contrast), and my florist took a bit of license while creating the bouquet, in the end I loved her additions and imagination and my bouquet was featured in the Summer issue of the Wedding Channel magazine (I guess it's coming on the newstands now if it is not already?)...they sent us a copy of the issue last week, and mine is on the page where it talks about flowers/bouquets and ideas, along with about 12 others. Too fun! Plus it gave my amazing florist in Kauai some great press I'm sure she loved!

Mara- I just found your bouquet in the Wedding Channel Magazine.. Its definitely one of the prettiest on the page.. and perfect for Hawaii!..

I am at such a loss for what to do about flowers.. I am not a flower type of gal..

My mom and I were chatting about it the other day, and an Idea that I like is to have roses for my bouquets.. maybe one of the light pink/white mixtures for me.. and brighter pinks for my girls.. and then do Lilies for decoration. I JUST LOVE lilies.. I love tigerlilies..but don''t want orange in my wedding.. but I also love Stargazer lilies and white lilies, so I was thinking of doing centerpieces and other decorations with those.. I saw this done in a magazine.. but it was with all white roses and lilies everywhere.. I''m wondering if the stargazers will be too much..
I also still love stargazer bouquets.. so I''m not completely sold on the idea of the rose bouquets

Here are some of my favorites.

this next one is kind of neat because it has roses AND stargazers..

Okay.. I think thats enough flowers..

Mara~
That is so wonderful that your bouquet is being featured in a magazine! I''m sure it''s beautiful... I love orchids. Are you able to scan the article? I would love to see it! I looked for the magazine when I was in the store a little while ago and I couldn''t find it.

Anyways, if you can''t, that''s fine... just wanted to let you know that I think that''s great that your bouquet is in the Wedding Channel magazine!

chelle, I can scan it at work...but here is the link to the thread where I mentioned when they contacted me...the picture they used in the spread is the top one in the collage in this link. Personally I think my pix were just as good.

I got the idea for the trailing ribbons from a bouquet I saw in a mag...and I was so picky about finding the color and the style of ribbon that my florist told me to bring her what I wanted and she would use it! The color was a bit brighter than I originally wanted but it ended up looking amazing with the BM's dusty rose dresses...it made the bouquets pop more.

The BM bouquets were very cool, they were smaller, with all white and purple dendrobium orchids (the small ones in my bouquet) with greenery and the trailing ribbons. I have to admit that when I was planning, I was unsure if it would look good, but Arlene worked her magic and it all came together, even when I called her TWO DAYS before the wedding and entirely changed the colors of the cymbidiums...she was so accomodating!

Mara, BIG Thanks for the info on the curly flower thing. I assumed it was part of the callas since there weren''t any other flowers mentioned on the description. I''m definitely think every flower is integral to the bouquets beauty, so this is a big help. I can''t wait to start my florist visits.

What beautiful bouquets!

I'm, uh.. going for minimal flowers with mine. Lots of lush greenery (hey, I'm ALL for something different - the site coordinator is upset since she's sure that everyone should use roses. Muhah! I like to tweak her nose sometimes..).

One source of inspiration... yeah, I know, not for everyone...
