FI and I are have planned a destination wedding at the Sandals Regency in St. Lucia on 8-8-8 for just the two of us. I would really like and very much appreciate to see your beach destination wedding gowns. I am also curious to see what your groom wore also!

Thanks for sharing!

As soon as I actually figure mine out, I will be sure to post! I''ve bought a few different ones on ebay, so when they all arrive and I narrow it down, I''ll post, post, post!

We just picked up some Haggar silk shirts in a light green with a tropical pattern inlaid in the fabric on clearance at Mervyn''s. FI has them, but I''ll take pix for you this weekend. We were thinking summer suit for FI and tan/cream chinos for the groomsmen. My girls will be wearing fuschia. Hope that helps!

I''ll post mine when I get a chance too. Getting married in Barbados next month. Like Harleigh, my MOH will be wearing fuchsia. Still have to look for her dress though.

For our Hawaiian beach wedding I wore a custom two-piece dress. The full circle skirt had two layers of ivory silk, a thicker layer (charmeuse? (sp?)) with an overlay of chiffon (?)... well something gauzy and floaty that looked great in the breeze. The top was a lace-up corset style with ribbons that fluttered and it had a sweetheart neckline with a halter strap, and tonal floral embroidery.

DH looked stunning and extremely romantic in head to toe Tommy Bahama. His top was a solid silk camp shirt in white/ivory with a tonal tropical print. (I think it was palm fronds). He also wore silk shorts with an inverted pleat in Kahki sands, a light tan color. He insisted on wearing shorts, and since he has such nice legs I didn''t object much.

And he even wore Tommy Bahama sandals before and after the ceremony. They remain his nicest shoes!

DH''s outfit worked perfectly but there was disastrous potential. When he tried it on pre-hair cut and in need of a shave he apparently looked a lot like a Panamanian drug dealer from the 80''s!!

We had a barefoot policy and I''m glad we did. There was something extra special about getting married with the surf behind us and the sand between our toes.

Our guests seemed to like it too! (all 8 of them!

That''s very elegant, Sha, thanks for sharing!

You gals are the greatest!

I have been looking via the internet and as you all can imagine the choices are endless yet, I have not found something that has caught my eye. There have been many have turned me off thus the frustration.

We are both in our early 40s and in great shape. Thank God!

What I envision originally was something casual yet pretty and tea-length with him wearing a great linen shirt by TB and casual pants... THEN.... FI spoke up and said that he wanted to wear something more formal like a suit of some sorts.

We went to Atlantic City this past August and I had found that same TB shirt! I loved it!! That was my inspiration for the casual. Now, things have changed. I now see him in a suit and me in something floor length and more elegant rather than casual and pretty.

Indie- Thank you for the thread! Beautiful EVERYTHING! That drug dealer story was too funny!
Sha and Misy- very very nice... The wheels are spinning!

Thank you so much!

Cynthia

Harleigh,

Thanks! I am looking forward to the pix!

Unfortunately, I am a size 2....thanks for pointing that out to me...good luck!

I was just browsing to see other destination wedding dresses and came across this so thought I would bump it as I just bought my beach wedding dress! It''s for an informal, barefoot beach ceremony with just the two of us. I am having it in ivory with possibly an aquamarine sash.
