Yes I do. My aunt brought that diamond up to me from Los Angeles and then I paid her for it. It was an upgrade from my first .75 E-I1 (horrors) that is now in a pendant.@cflutist -
Do you still own either that setting or that center stone? It looks like a stunning marquise!
I got engaged last month and my fiancé surprised me with an OMC cluster ring! I love the finger coverage, I love all the wonky little OMCs all the way around, I love how it looks like a flower! It makes me so happy! The center stone is about 1.2cts and is quite warm (L or M) so it has lots of personality and can go from quite white to antique white to ecru to yellow depending on the light. I’ve never owned a warm stone before and I love it!
Be still my heart!
WOW, LOVE LOVE LOVE. So beautiful and romantic.
Congratulations!
Hey Missy
I have a pendant, which was made from a ring, and a ring made to match the pendant! The stones in the pendant aren't all that great; center is a .75 OEC taken out of an antique ring, then surrounded by rb's (each about .2ct) to form a ring - then later converted to a pendant. The setting was designed by a wonderful old school dutch jeweler who had worked with clusters before, and the underside of it is just lovely! I'm having a 21" dbty chain made for it hopefully next month, if DK can fit me into his schedule. Otherwise, it will be April. It will be made with 3 pt stones, but there will be 50 of them. mainly I'm after slight twinkle and something with just a little more character than a plain chain. It won't be a stand alone piece; I'll use it as the chain for a couple of different pendants that I own.
The second piece - made by SK - was originally all diamonds (1.3 center and 8 x .25 as the petals - all E VS2). I loved my original cluster, but always wanted to see it done with high quality diamonds. So I collected them over time and had it made. But something about it just left me cold and I ended up pulling out the center stone and replacing it with a 7.1mm Ceylon sapphire cut by Andrew Gulij at Gemfix. I love it now, and think it looks way better.
The third piece is a pair of earrings - .8ctw center stones, 5pt halos. From IDJ - stones all E VS2.
I'll have to break the photos up, since it's 3 different pieces, so here is the original ring - 2.4twc
PS Are you thinking of getting one? Your collection is so lovely and I can see your taste running to a cluster-style ring. Keep us informed!
So beautiful! Love those little pillowy stones!Wow, all the rings in this thread are gorgeous! Mrs b, your cluster pieces are amazing and the sapphire looks great in the cluster setting. Imdoubler, your ring is fabulous. JoCoJenn, I love the square shape of your ring, you posted a pic of it a while back and seeing your ring made me want to get a cluster style. Lauren, I adore both your rings and would love to have an emerald ring exactly like yours.
Mine is 1.25 carats, making each stone a little under 14 points each. YG with platinum head. The stones look like OMCs to me - chunky, a little rustic, slight pillow shape. Seller says it's from 1900 to 1910 but who knows. It's probably fairly old though, just going by diamonds and setting.
Missy, I thought of you when I saw this! So pretty (and huge!)

@fioratura Wow! What an incredibly moving proposal & the ring is BEAUTIFUL!! Gosh, I actually welled up watching that. It's made my day!
Thank you!! This will be my second marriage and the first one was pretty rough...high school sweethearts who just took the next steps, a lot of emotional abuse and unhealthy situations that I was too young to really realize I was in until it was too late, etc. Long story short, I never thought I wanted to get married again and I NEVER thought I would want an over the top surprise (especially since, like everyone else here, I have very specific taste in jewelry and know what I like). My fiancé is the best person I know and really wanted to give me a good experience with marriage after my past, so he went all out. My best friend knows that I’m exclusively in love with old cuts and antiques and actually found a way to get my eBay password from me so she could hack into my eBay account to find the rings I was watching (this was my favorite). My fiancé proposed as an encore to his NYC recital debut (on my birthday)...we’re both opera singers. It was really magical. I wouldn’t have even cared about the ring really because it was such a thoughtful surprise, but the fact that he got it all perfectly down to the ring that I loved most was just so touching. I don’t know if videos are allowed, but he and my best friend even had videographers capture it too!
oooooh I want to see more photos of this one!
Thank you so much I fall in love with him all over again every time he sings! All of your well wishes and happiness mean so much to me!@fioratura, What a romantic love story! That video brought happy tears to my eyes. Your FI (and Iam sure you as well) has an Incredible voice. Thank you for sharing your love story and this video with us. I love that you are both opera singers and such a magical way to propose and what a perfect love story. Wishing you all the happiness in the world. Dreams do come true.
@Snowdrop13 I’m looking into getting a flower cluster ring after Christmas. I’m looking through all the GORGEOUS rings on this thread and saw this photo of your cluster ring. I need mine to be smaller so I can wear it daily...I think I would like mine to be the size of yours. Do you know the specs on it..especially the size in width of the flower? It would be very much appreciated! Thank you!I love all the rings on this thread! I thought I'd add mine to the list, although it's very small in comparison! I was holding out for something around the 1.5 tcw but I'm not very patient. This one popped up on Etsy and when I got it home and sized I was quite delighted with it. It's nice and flat and easy to wear. It's also in very good condition despite being nearly 100........
Thank you!@Mamabean the ring is lovely and easy to wear, mainly because of the bezel surrounds, I think. It has about 0.8ct of diamonds and measures 10mm across the top (my finger is a size 6). Hope that helps and that you find something beautiful yourself!
