Show me your engraving!

I started this thread for selfish reasons :Up_to_something2: I am looking for inspiration for the shoulder engraving on the three stone ring I am having made. Thought I would post some of the images I have sound around the web.

Not sure this is the right thread to ask but is milgrain considered engraving?
Can engraving be added to an existing piece?

Milgrain is done with a special tool. Milgrain can be applied to an existing ring . There's different milgrain available from super fine to chunky, depends on the milgrain tool used. Engraving can also be added to a ring, (but different tools involved. )

What are the vendors DK and SS that are referenced? I’m a newbie so haven’t caught up with all of the abbreviations

Any vendors \ designers folk would recommend? I’d love a custom wheat band potentially and love certain blossom engravings. Great thread with lovely pieces!

@annagene12 DK is David Klass and SS is Singlestone. I believe they actually use the same engraving bench, but someone please correct me if I’m wrong.

Engraved pendant from DK and ring from CvB. The quality of the engraving on both pieces is impressive.

The chain on your necklace is so striking! Do you have photos of the necklace being worn that you can share? How long is it?

Ya got a thread on this set? It's gorgeous!!!

Thank you @apacherose, the link to my thread:

I just found this thread through today’s jewelry blog. Love everyone’s engraved bands!

I own this band from SS, though I’m not sure if it’s considered engraving. It is oxidized and I love it:

This one is coming my way in a few weeks:

And I have my eye on the oxidized version of this band (2nd photo down). It reminds me of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”:

Does anyone have an oxidized engraved band from DK? I’ve never seen one.

If he and SS use the same engraver, I wonder if that person also does oxidizing for both companies. I’m thinking DK’s prices on bands would be less expensive than SS’s prices.

Milgrain is detail to metal. Engraving is a bit more tricky.
If you have a piece you want to add milgrain/engraving to, take it to a reputable jeweler you trust, and have them examine it to determine if it’s possible to engrave/add milgrain to it.
