Show me your Pearls!

This is my first post, although I've lurked at PP for years and here for a while. This is my first major pearl purchase. I've made and strung freshwater necklaces, but that was a while ago.

I had a lot of trouble photographing them, the luster is amazing. I'll try to get a better photo. I have the vendors photo but I'm not sure if I can post it here.

They are 10 - 11.4 mm, 20 inches long (my request). They are described as deep gold shading into medium gold. The seller is well thought of here.

Here is the photo from the seller. I've seen others posted now so I assume it is ok.

The Hamantaschen from Pacific Pearls. I'm still trying to decide what to do with it.

The Swan, and my yellow gold Mikimoto huggies.

Vietnamese blues and Kojima drops.

All the ropes. Natural white Hanadamas and Vietnamese blue akoyas from PP. My old pinked rope from 1982. Metallic freshwater drops from POJ.

The blue pearls match my Mom's ice blue metallic leather jacket from 1962.

Welcome Bostonian19!! I love these BIG pearls, the shapes are so wonderful with deep golden color, thanks for posting!

I love the clasp too! :appl:

Hi everyone,

This is my new (and first) south sea pearl strand from POJ. It just arrived on Friday, and I love it ever since I opened the box:). The luster is excellent and I love the silky smoothness of the SS pearls.

Kevin sent me a photo of 2 necklace of my choice, and I bought the one with bigger size rather than the one with rounder shape. Kevin is very helpful and patient even during the busy holiday sales time, and I really appreciate that :)

I noticed only today that there is a picture of ring in my last post. It is quite strange, cause I have never taken such picture...

The original second picture of my SS necklace:

Sure:). I will wait for a sunny day to take some pictures:)

I have been admiring those lovely pearls here for a good while now and finally made an account today.
During summer, I made this necklace of Tahitian round 10mm pearls and leather. It was so much fun picking the colours (love greens and bronze, and greys and purples and peacock tones the best) and I feel like a mermaid wearing them and I'd love to go splashing about in the ocean with them (even though I probably should not)... Now I should learn how to properly photograph them.

Beautiful! I can't believe you made that yourself, it looks so professional! I love the luster on your pearls, where are they from?

That is fantastic, I love it!

Just gorgeous Marionberry! It looks so delicate been with the leather!

Probably one of the last few times I will be able to wear pearls during the day as it gets way too warm for anything around my neck except suntan lotion.

I am wearing my silver/blue Tahitians from Pure Pearls. They are 10-12mm with a ball clasp, about 17 1/2" long. I usually like my Tahitians larger and longer but the teal blue of this strand just "spoke" to me.

Wow gorgeous pearls Luvglitz

I am wearing two strands of mixed Tahitians pearls today. One is a 36" rope and the other is a 19" choker. No special place to go just needed to feel "pearly". I also added a necklace shortener to the rope to keep it from bopping me in the stomach as I walked. The pearls are 11 - 13mm drops.

Hoping to contibute more to this thread but can post this for now as I just raided my mother's jewelry box. The ring is over 40 years old but not sure the type of pearls they are. Any ideas?

Hello everyone!! I'm fairly new on PS and don't come on here too often. Not quite sure which thread is best to share my pearls with you all...I guess this will be a good place to start. :wavey:
These are what I have at home currently that I just took some random pics of. I keep some in the bank vault maybe I'll have a chance to share later on.

What a lovely necklace! The combination of Tahitians with WSS and GSS is stunning. Would love to see more photos I'm sure the colours are amazing in person!

Hi Staceyjan, sorry just saw your question...TBH I don't remember  I think the pearl in my ring is about 13.5mm or around there.

Thank you Siameseroo
Here are a couple of more pics, not very good as I'm certainly NOT a good photographer :wall:
The pearls are decent, both in size and quality, at least I am very happy I didn't spend a small fortune. Most of them are round, and I'm quite satisfied with the luster and nacre. Still waiting for an occasion to be able to show it off... :naughty:

It's a beautiful necklace togetherishappiness! Where did you buy it from? Was it an online vendor or a local purchase?
