Those are lovely, Arkteia. They have a lemony, almost fresh and cool tone on my screen. I think with the amethyst, it will be a fabulous and unusual necklace! Please do show it when you've put it together?
Listed as such. I don't know yet much about pearls, so I try to purchase a pearl or two from different vendors to get an idea of what even exists on the market. Real pearls are very different from photos, I have not seen any other gems that would change so much not only due to the light but to the background. I took GIA accredited jewelry professional course once, but pearls were not an area of my interest at that time, so I just scanned through the book. Now it is different. And the subconscious urge is to wear something antique, I think. How come tastes change? Are they GSSP Arkteia?
Thank you, Bluegemz! They have somewhat fatty lustre, if I may use this term. Not the cool, metallic Tahitian one. I love all your pearls, but the shoulder dusters are so original, not like anything else! Those are lovely, Arkteia. They have a lemony, almost fresh and cool tone on my screen. Did you make them yourself, Bluegems? I just bought my first book on beads-stringing.These are some of my favorite necklaces! First is a wire wrapped, coin ad pink pearl necklace by an amazing artist. They are like happy clouds...
Then I made this lavender and pink Druzy pearl, wire wrapped necklace. It's very long. The light is low and the pics are not doing justice to the luster and orient of these.
I understand what you are describing. South seas often have a satiny luster rather than the sharp shine of akoyas. They are softer looking at times, which is just beautiful in emphasizing the glow of a woman's skin.Thank you, Bluegemz! They have somewhat fatty lustre, if I may use this term. Ah yes, seed pearls! I love them too. This was my grandmothers senior jewelry project. She had to pick blueberries all summer to save for the gold. This was back in 1910.Love seed pearls, they look so beautiful in antique jewelry!
