Show me your Van Cleef and Arpels jewelry!

@LLJsmom , I haven't worn my Lotus ring for a long time - due to various reasons with Covid being one. I usually wear all my pieces on a daily basis. For special occasions, I just wear MORE pieces, for an oomph effect!

I see you wearing your new gorgeous pave piece on a daily basis, worn with your other beautiful pieces. Jeweller is to be worn and loved as often as possible, imho.

I love your outlook. I will do my very best to adopt it.

News for my VCA Fam. Instead of waiting 3 months, my single row diamond perlee bangle is here after 7 weeks. Have to admit that I am wondering what took me so long. I loved it the first time I saw it in 2018. However It was inconceivable that I would invest this much into a piece with minimal diamonds. Fast forward 4 years and lots of damage later, I still am obsessed with the bangle. I’ve talked myself out of it, then a gorgeous pic pops up and I’m sucked back in.

Anyway l figured it would be appropriate for a 25th anniversary gift. I placed a deposit and was told the wait would be at least 3 months. Surprisingly it arrived in almost 7 weeks. I love it. Super white and multi colored and sparkly. A huge wow piece.

So... A few months ago I said this...
And lucky last ::) This is actually a copycat piece. @LLJsmom was looking at the Perlee single row diamond bracelet last year, and I tried it on a few times to take photos to send her... And somewhere along the line I fell for it too. So this one's me shamelessly copying her inspiration ::)
I'm seriously so happy that the object of my copy has come to fruition!!!

And I'm done making it all about me now  @LLJsmom I'm SUPERexcited for you!!!! You've wanted this for so long. And I know you've gone up and down on it over the years... It's a big commitment sort of piece and I know it's been a journey to make that commitment. And here you are!! This bangle is such a beautiful piece, I can see you getting a ton of wear from it. It's unique enough to be interesting but also generic enough to work in all sorts of settings with all sorts of outfits. And I've always loved this stack best in WG!! Signature and single row diamond bangles. Such a classic combo. In the white gold my eyes focus on the overall look first, more than inspecting each individual piece, or each component of each individual piece - it's just a totally stunning and timeless duo

Ahhhh. So excited. SO excited. SO EXCITED. Happy anniversary!!!! :cool2: :appl:

Congrats on getting one of your HG’s!!! You’ve loved this piece for so long, that’s always such a true test of whether a piece is “worth” it or not. It looks absolutely stunning on you!!! I can also attest that I am floored by VCA’s pave….:kiss2: My SA told me up to 16 weeks for my earrings and they came in 2 weeks and I also got them in time for Mother’s Day. All I could say is their boutique lighting is truly terrible and when I opened the box at home my jaw dropped. I would imagine you know this exact feeling since your pics are amazing and I could feel your excitement through your post! ENJOY and Happy Happy Anniversary!!!!

Yay! Soooo gorgeous!!!! Happy anniversary! What a special way to mark the occasion. Enjoy!

@mjea Love your carnelian earrings! And yes, I definitely would want the matching bracelet! You'll likely need to buy it in person in order to match the bracelet to the earrings.

@LLJsmom I am SO happy for you to get this VERY gorgeous piece for your anniversary! You have loved it for a long time, and this was the perfect occasion to get it! It looks wonderful with your signature bangle!

@Missie1 Love the pictures and I am so happy to hear stock seems to be increasing! (Actually, maybe I am not since I spent more in the first 4 months of this year than I normally do in a whole year!!! I am banning myself!) We'd love to see more pictures!

What a wonderful anniversary gift, @LLJsmom ! Your diamond bangle matches beautifully with all of your WG VCA pieces!
So glad you finally pulled the trigger on this one for this special occasion! :appl:

So ladies I’m in these Vegas streets and happy to report that inventory is definitely being restocked in the boutiques. The Alhambra line in various combinations 20s, 10s & 5 motifs are available in the standard colors. The Crystal and Forum locations had most stock. No Magic earrings or bracelets were available. Sweet Perlees were available as well. I tried on pink sapphire no Laois butterfly earrings and neither did anything for me. The Pave is still the winner. I did try on seeets and vintage and decided loved vintage size earrings on me. Here are few shots I surprisingly loved the 16th motif doubled I would need to SO in RG but the yg did work with my rg arm Going to Wynn today so I will report more laterDC2A2725-6109-4D0B-904B-5058967C5C97.jpeg

Love that 16 motif on you!

Oh, and please post more modeling pics from your trip! :wavey:

Absolutely beautiful. Congratulations on such a great piece. It really packs a punch and give great sparkle to your arm.
Thank you @Missie1. Yes, you're totally right. It's not at all big or in your face, but the sparkle does pack a serious punch. That's what drew me to it in the first place.

@yssie, you know, right? It's your pics, after you got yours, the ones of yours and your signature that convinced me to put it back on the list, and just do it. One day after looking at your pics again, I just said "f*ck it". No more thinking. It may disappoint but since I've thought about it for so long, I'll deal with it if it does. So if you never got yours, I may never have gotten mine. It all works out the way it should. ;)2 Thanks for being so excited for me. It carried me through the wait period.

Thank you @ac117. Yes, everyone and I were tired of my decision making process. 4 years is long enough for anyone. Enjoy your lovely pave pieces.

Thank you!!! Yes - good advice for color matching

Large Frivole earrings. They're 22mm at widest and 6.6g each.

They're very, very, very, very *bold*. Even though they're basically the same size as my mini Rose de Noel clips they look SO much bigger on the ears. The photos don't convey how much of a statement they make in-person.

A friend called them "fingerprint and scratch magnets". Completely true. Those huge polished flats of metal are unforgiving. My bracelet has small and mini sized motifs and even though they're significantly more scratched up they don't show it nearly as much, somehow; the bigger size make a big difference.

For me... There's a fine line between powerful and aggressive and for me these earrings cross it. But obviously that line is going to be different for everyone. So I'm speaking only for myself. I've learnt two things:
1. Bold designs can overwhelm my features in not-gigantic sizes. I'm now leaning strongly toward sticking with the Vintage size for my RG/pave Alhambra clips, instead of trying to SO Magic. But I'll try them on to be sure.
2. The pave BTF ring was definitely the right choice. Rings are going to scratch and the plain metal version would have driven me nutty!

These earrings will be staying in the fam. So I'll be able to visit with them whenever I want ::) Sorry if the pics are huge, I'm just posting straight off my phone here.

Benadryl for scale. 'Tis the season.

The backs are angled so that the flower sits up "in bloom" on the ear, just like the small size, but these petals are so expansive that the clip would be completely invisible in-person regardless of ear shape or size!

I was just about to make up my mind to buy exact the same earrings today!

I had the same concerns but thought they should anyway be very beautiful despite the scratches and finger prints (I did think about using gloves to put them on) ... there is no local boutique so I cannot see them in person before purchasing but I can return them if I do not like them...I would wear them with plain T-shirts and pants kind of outfit, without other jewelries.

From the pictures they look very nice on you and the size does seem good.

What would you recommend for me, should I anyway buy them and see if I like them?

Other alternative for me is to buy a 3-flower pendant and a Frivole ring in small size (due to current availability). Them combined will be a bit more expensive than buying one pair of large earrings but not much.

I would definitely buy these only with a return or exchange option!

My photos mute them. IRL they’re “larger than life”, those big petals are flashing constantly as they catch the light. I felt like they wear me more than i wear them - and I’m generally very comfortable with big earrings

Thank you! I just placed an order=)2 Seems to have been the last piece they had online so it was a good timing to make the decision. They do have 30 days return policy so I am safe;)2

HI yssie!
Great post about the earrings.. love all the pix. They actually don't overwhelm you in the pictures but I guess in real life they appear bigger?
As I don't own any Frivole pieces I didn't realize they had a fingerprint "situation."
Anyways.. Hilarious using a Benadryl for a size comparison! Something we can all relate to.

I have been offline for a bit and am just catching up, but oh my gosh, how stunningly gorgeous! And versatile! The stacking possibilities are endless! I am so thrilled that you took the plunge and snagged this dream perlée bangle (and got it in about half of the expected time, too!). Congratulations on your milestone anniversary, and enjoy!!

I really love these on you! I know you said you feel they cross a "too large" line, and I know jewelry pieces can look very different in person than in photos, but gosh they look really lovely on you in those pics!

Do you think it might be possible that they would grow on you (and not feel overwhelming) after a few wears? Kinda like the way diamond shrinkage happens?

I don't want to push them on you though if you just aren't that into them. Its all about personal comfort. I totally get that.

Hi @yssie thanks for this post! Your timing couldn’t have been more perfect. I am debating hard between the small and large frivole. I really love the large but I think it’s my inner bling child talking. Reality I think the small suits me better. I keep going back and forth daily but after seeing your post, I think I’m going with small. Do you have the 9 flowers necklace? At some point, I would love to add it for a set. Just wondering what’s your thought on the necklace with all gold or pave flowers too.

They look great on you!! I didn’t think about the flashes of light and fingerprint situation though. Since they are staying in the fam - what occasions do you think you’ll reach for them over the others if you had to guess?

Also… speaking of fam.. do you have a family shot? I feel like this forum is better than going into the boutique For research because there’s more variety than what’s currently in stock in most boutiques!

@RunningwithScissors, @OdetteOdile Thank you girls!

So I’ve got two challenges with these.
The first is that they’re brand new. Like, my SA squirreled them away before they hit the sales floor and then called me to see if I was interested, sort of new. And they’ve already got some very fine scratching! Just from the plastic/packaging/few minutes in hand. My bracelet scratches if you breathe on it too hard too, to be fair, but wear shows up so much more in the larger petals. And it wouldn’t bother me if the high polish wasn’t instrumental to the aesthetic but it is!
The second is that I honestly did feel like they were wearing me. It’s not the size by itself though - it’s the size of *this* design. Like, if you take something super cute and sweet and pretty and you scale it up a bit and it’s still cute and sweet and pretty, but keep making it bigger and bigger and eventually it loses its charm? I didn’t realize this before I saw these earrings, but for me the plain polished mini and small sizes are dimensional and whimsical, but the plain polished large size beers a bit into “industrial”. Kind of loses the cute factor. But that’s just my opinion of how they look on me.

So they’re off to my mother. She likes bright and bold, and she doesn’t care for delicate, and she has stronger colouring than me - lighter skin, darker hair if you ignore the grey, cooler complexion. I think they’ll suit her MUCH better.

Veers, not beers, in my last post, thank you phone

The small Frivole earrings don’t work on me, my ears aren’t petite enough  The clip is visible from the front. A PS friend and I were chatting, we both wish they had a medium size - like the size of my Cosmos earrings, that would be perfect!

I don’t have the necklace - I don’t wear necklaces, really. So I’ve never even tried any Frivole necklaces. The necklace is a statement piece! What would your set be - earrings + necklace + bracelet + ring? That’s a LOT of Frivole, I wouldn’t wear all of them at once, but it would be fun to have them all and be able to mix and match!

I just realized how confusing the word “family” was!! I meant human family, might be the only time I’ve actually meant human family posting on here  They’re going to my mum and I think they’ll suit her very nicely ::)

I need to get to the bank! I’ll take some bling family pics next time I go in ❤️
