Show me your Yvonne Raley and Cecile Raley Designs!

Well, we were in the final stages of setting my royal blue sapphire into a stacking ring when disaster struck:-( Somehow, the setter managed to break my sapphire!
Luckily, Yvonne had another 5 mm sapphire that I liked, that's a more cornflower shade of blue, so we are going to use it instead in the stacker.

Oh dear what a nasty shock.

I hope this goes swell and dandy for you!

Thanks, Burmesedaze! Yvonne's setter is top quality and very experienced, both he and Yvonne were stunned by this freak accident.

I shared the story as an object lesson on how even the hardest of gems can break during setting. At least it wasn't a gem that would be hard to replace.

Glad to hear you were able to get the stone replaced, Leslie. Thank goodness Yvonne has insurance for this.

That's for sure, voce! When working with a top-quality shop at least one always has the peace of mind knowing that the vendor will do right by the customer.

I really like the new sapphire, too. It was cheaper than the one that broke and that difference in cost pays for setting the stacker plus the balance I owed on my emerald.

I got my sapphire stacker a couple of days ago and it's exactly what I wanted, a nice medium cornflower blue that holds its color in a variety of lighting conditions.

This came out great. I was a bit nervous for you thinking any blue sapphire would be too dark. So glad you proved me wrong. Now I may have to get one made

Looks great with the demantoid (i think) eternity band

Thanks, @Acinom! This stone was a replacement for one that broke during setting, so I was thrilled that the project came out so well :)

Thank you, @Sunguru :-) The eternity band is actually tsavorite garnets. I also have a RG band with demantoid and paraiba tourmalines.
Yvonne described this sapphire as being "cornflower blue" and I would agree. It's light enough to not black out in the setting. I tend to go for the medium blue shades in sapphires as a rule. I encourage you to get a blue sapphire stacker made, it's a very wearable piece of jewelry!

CRD has finally finished the little danglies for my RG diamond hoops! I've had these spinels and sapphires on hold in Yvonne's shop for ages and finally put them to good use. I'll post pictures of them on the hoops once they arrive. The spinels are set in WG so they can be worn on either white or rose gold hoops.

Thanks, @Sungura! It's also a cost-effective way to make earrings, too, which tend to get pricy when custom set in gold :-)

@leslie1956 lovely! I look forward to seeing it on your hand.

My three stone ring with the Muzo emerald and aquas is finished! The color of that emerald is outstanding considering its pricepoint :)

Thank you, Garnet Girl! I wanted side stones that were similar in saturation to the emerald. Fortunately, Yvonne had these 4x3 Santa Maria aquamarines that were perfect for my purposes.

I saw this in her shop and was really hoping it belonged to a PSer. The colors are gorgeous together. They paired perfectly. :kiss2: I can’t wait to see your pics.

Aw, thanks Elle! I usually go for more saturated colors, but this emerald called for a different approach :-) Even better, the whole project only set me back about $450 since I used platinum silver for the setting!

Hello sorry for the thread hijack but I would like to know something. I saw some very nice spinel from Mr. Spinel on IG (pink salmon and love in a mist, very nice, go see them if you can), but apparently he only sells by box (smallest one is almost 8 cts)
I need a few of each for a simple gradient to use in a necklace (like less than 15 spinels total)
Would Cecile or Yvonne be able to source something similar? I saw them selling individual stones on etsy and also have a Facebook page. Any idea about the cost? (You pay just the stones or also the time spent searching?)
Thanks

Yvonne would be a great resource for spinels. She has pink and grey spinel in melee sizes right now and she's always willing to try and source items she doesn't have in her shop. She doesn't charge for her search time.
I would message her through her Etsy shop, Cecile Raley Designs and tell her what you are looking for specifically :-) She's very nice and her gem quality is excellent!

Hope this helps, @IcePhoenix
