Here's a couple more of my light brown stone that Brian Gavin recut for me.

Andelain, if you don't mind my asking, was getting your stone re-cut very expensive? I'm asking because I have one I'm considering getting recut, but I don't know if it's worth it. It wasn't a very valuable stone, but that may be because I bought it in Indonesia. It's a nice warm M and quite good clarity, but it's badly cut. It has a visible culet and not enough facets on the pavillion. It's a decent size though, 0.67, so if ended up a bit smaller (but sparklier), it would worth it. Can you comment on how you decided?

Anyone else had experience with this?

acebruin - Thanks so much for your kind words! I'll be posting more pics with my full set once my band is resized (I'm getting married in a few weeks).

Hi, sorry I missed this before! :wavey:

BGD charges $350 a carat based on pre-cut weight. I thought it was well worth it. The downside is they don't like to cut smaller stones for some reason. I wanted to send in a 64 pointer that's a bit deep, but they said it wouldn't be worth it. I hay hunt around and see if anyone else will cut it. I'd actually like to get all three from the pic I posted above recut.

Davi, hope you don't mind, but I brightened it up a bit.

Don't forget about Amethyste's old setting. It still makes my heart sing

Me tooooooooo! What a beauty! Incredible!

Was not a fan of yellow diamond before but the more I see beauties like these the more I love it!

Thanks so much! I emailed them and Leslie got back to me right away. I specifically mentioned that mine is only 0.67, so we'll see if they will consider it or not. I wonder if it's just not worth their while to re-cut smaller stones.

So I just received the ring today......it is just devine

I initially was going to get a ring made by Leon, but with some PSers recommendation I contacted DBL as another option....one of the best decision I've ever made! David is very knowledgeable, honest, and just so easy to work with! This is my first colored diamond and I think I did pretty good! Setting is hand made, pave work blew me away......I didn't expect it to look this good to tell you the truth.

I would love to officially thank DAVID at DBL, my dream RHR came true because of him!! I got this spectacular "inspired by Tiffany Sola Ring" without Tiffany price! Now I'll let the pictures talk and you all will see why I'm so

I'm here to make my ring reveal! I finally got it! My 1.53 cttw Natural Fancy Intense Yellow & colorless, VS white diamond ring in platinum & 18k yellow gold! Here are the specs on the center stone from it's GIA report: Shape: Radiant, Measurement: 5.87 x 5.81 x 3.80mm, Carat weight: 1.11ct, Color: Natural Fancy Intense Yellow, Distribution: Even, Clarity Grade: VS2, Polish: Good, Symmetry: Good, Fluorescence: Faint. Table: 69%, Depth: 65.3%. I have paired it up with my invisible set, colorless, VS princess cut wedding band. Please excuse the horrible quality photo, I am no photog! We purchased this ring from Levaron Diamonds & Jewelry (levaron.com) & I absolutely  it!!! 101_1656_0.jpg

That's a really beautiful colored diamond and ring.
Congratulations.

Hubby decided to tell me on Sunday[Mother's Day] that I should get these earrings from DBL for my birthday which is coming up in a couple weeks. I sent David an email then decided it wouldn't hurt to call and leave a message never figuring that he would be in the office. Surprisingly he was and we had a lovely conversation. I had these in my hot little hands yesterday morning. How's that for quick service! They are very sparkly and just the right size for wearing every day if I want to. Thanks David! They are 18kt FLY radiants with E-F VS side stones with a cttw of 1.41.

A few years ago I had asked for setting ideas for a 2.10 brown cushion diamond I had. Unfortunately I got busy (building a house, deck, fence, pavers, new dog, etc.,)

FINALLY for my 33rd birthday and 8th anniversary I set it! I've had it for a month or so and love it. I had the name "Tiskers" engraved as the ring is paying homage to my terminally ill cat Tiskers.

Style: R1029, cathedral shank, all plat, 1.9-2.0 mm, diamonds on shank 3/4 of the shank

First, thanks for all the support and advice this forum has provided me. I have learned a lot through it and gotten some good advice from members. I was able to find a U/V colored round halo diamond from DBL which David created beautifully. Its 1.04 ct + .3 ct side stone. I hope my gf will love it as I propose next weekend.

Check it out!

Hey guys!

Why should my SO have all the blingy goodness of a delicious colored diamond? He shouldn't!

And now... He doesn't!

David and Jennifer from Diamonds by Lauren were such amazing and wonderful people to work with! Plus living close to NYC had a lot of benefits. Like dropping off my .84ct radiant fancy deep brownish yellowish diamond in person to David in his office. And then he brought out a smorgasbord of BLING. OMG if you're ever in NYC go and hang out in there. Your mind will be blown! It's great to see the other side of the biz too! He has the coolest job ever.

Anyways, back to the ring.

The SO's ring is gold and silver, done by Jessedanger of Etsy. So when I thought about my ring I wanted one in the same metals. It was daunting to ask some of PS's amazing vendors if they worked in silver. In the end, the customer service price and quality of DBL won out.

The semi-bezel is 18kt and the band is sterling with a satin finish. Oh I could continue to describe but hey pictures are like a 1000 words sooooo........

I was told to brag about this ring I got so I guess I will do it.
I got it online from www.thediamond.com
The center is a 3.5 carat fancy yellow diamond cushion cut.
The ring is platinum and the box for the cushion cut is a special refractive 18k gold.
I am super pleased with it and I have to tell you the few stores in my area that had something even close to it wanted double.
I feel like I hit the jackpot!

Here's a picture of the ring he chose. We had shopped for the first time back in mid-March so 4 1/2 months later, I have my ring! I had tried on a traditional princess-cut diamond in a bead-set setting and really loved the thin band. With that in mind, my significant other decided to appease me with at least that 1 element. Other than that, he went on his own in choosing a less usual popular and color for the center stone.

He proposed on Saturday, 7/30. Later that day he said he was nervous about choosing a colored diamond. I am pleased with its uniqueness. He did a great job!
