Show us your Antique/Vintage and Reproduction Rings!

Here’s mine! My first antique. Early Victorian, 1830-1840s, ruby and natural pearl, 18k gold. It’s dark red in real life, no pink or purple modifiers.

Wow! That is beautiful!

@Mreader do you happen to have more pictures of this ring, especially the setting and diamond sizes? Thanks so much!!

@Mreader You have tiny hands because it looks HUGE. I'd need at least 2.5 to accomplish the same look :/

Haha. I am a 5 - 5.5 depending; I usually size my rings 5.25 bc I cannot stand them to ever be tight and would rather put up with spinning. I think it looks it's ctw but it's a closer pic and the stones sit up in that setting. Here is a distance shot.

But you got me curious so I'll get my calipers out later.

@Joanne10 Oh how I love your ring! :kiss2:

Here is my latest, nothing terribly exciting but I'm fond of it!

This is my three stone OEC ring. 1.5cttw of older, cushiony European cuts. The stones are likely form the latter decades of the 19tht century. The setting feels older. Maybe the 1940s? Judging from the style of the baskets and overall esthetic. I bought the ring just for the diamonds but the setting has grown on my too. The proportions are weird but I love how the diamonds are all hugging up next to each other.

Thank you! That is very sweet of you to say so about my ring! :kiss2:

I only just saw this, and I got to say, I think your ring is QUITE exciting! I might be biased towards emeralds (my favourite gemstone), but that emerald and that diamond just make me go hubba hubba  Wear it in joy!

It's not a ring, but there isn't a generic jewelry thread. I just received this beautiful pendant. I love it!

My new baby, I love it. I'm terrible at taking pics, but the clarity and color are great. Around 1.2, platinum setting 20240323_173605.jpg20240323_173143.jpg20240323_173359.jpg

Love this and love the setting. It looks perfect on your hand! Your pictures are great

I had an antique ring from Ivy and Rose reset, taking the tiny OEC out (seriously tiny) and putting a moissy from Vibratii on Instgram in it. It didn't go well, some of the engraving was lost, ect. Anyway, I took it to the Jewelry Workshop in Madison, WI and Jackie, their restoration specialist, fixed it. I think the ring looks better now than when it came from Ivy and Rose, she restored so much detail. Love or hate the moissy but I'm thrilled with the ring. Sorry for the poor photography.Resized_20240325_140524(2).jpeg

Zircon (not to be confused with CZ) was once a popular diamond substitute thanks to the double refraction. I collect it because it's my birthstone. This is my largest to date, a 10K 5.37 carat with small daisy flowers cupping the old euro cut stone on the shoulders.

The (estate jewelry) seller described the ring only as "vintage". My guess is that it dates to the Art Nouveau or Arts & Crafts era — but I'm still trying to figure out who made it. I can't quite make out the shape in the middle of the double diamond hallmark. Depending on how I look at it, it resembles a tiny wave, the letter "G" or a sideways "6". Hmm…

My first antique emerald - 18k and silver ring. The setting looks a lot like my victorian sapphire band.

Omg! I have a very similar ring!

Wow, gorgeous!! How big are the stones? @711heather , my youngest son is July 5th, so I keep finding reasons to buy rubies lol.
The diamond is ~6.1mm and the ruby is 5.9mm. Estimated 0.81ct for the diamond and 1.3ct for the ruby. sorry it took me so long to reply. July babies are the best!!

My newest baby. I need to buy some hobbyist microscope to decipher the date.

Here’s a CvB, Sako and Dr_D collaborative design:

My only real contribution was the shank design with the French cuts & external claw prongs :p

The main ring features an antique OEC (1.48ct J) with a crazy tall crown and French cut calibre sets (F color) cut by Sako’s Dad (The Gem Doctor).

The accent band features antique single-cut diamonds and tsavorite cut in the same antique style (also from The Gem Doctor):
