Show us your CvB ID jewelry! (The New CvB Eye-Candy Thread)

I guess I can't edit my post. I wanted to add: I want to love it, but unfortunately it didn't fill the void for the one I missed out on. This one is beautiful, but the one I missed out on I just fell in love with a particular ring and diamond.

It's a really lovely ring.

Was the piece you liked a stock piece? She does mostly custom, so maybe it wasn't actually even truly available, if that helps?

I think your rings are lovely, fwiw. Is there something you don't like about them?

Is it growing on you? It's beautiful and unique.

I know the feeling, I missed out on buying a skinny pear for a pendant and haven't been able to find anything like it in over a year. I ended up getting something totally different which I love and wear but didn't scratch the same itch.

Thank you.

The ring I love was originally bought by someone and then sold on Ebay. That was when I first saw it. I missed out on it on ebay a couple years ago. It was then sold again on here and someone I know in the jewelry community bought it. It is now being sold again. I am sure it is going to a very loving home.
I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
I didn't have this diamond set the same way as the ring I love because this pear isn't as curved at the bottom. As my friend puts it, it is more "hippie" with wide hips lol.
Don't get me wrong, this ring is beautiful. I just don't love it like I hoped I would.

Unfortunately it isn't growing on me. I do think it is beautiful and came out great.

I'm so sorry you missed out on that skinny pear. There have only ever been a couple rings that I have truly loved and consider to be very special. I might just sell my pear and hopefully one day I will find an antique pear that is perfect.

I hope you find your perfect stone soon!!!

I'm so sorry you don't love your ring. It's always a risk with custom, especially when you have a very specific vision in mind. I've had the same experience! And it's a really bummer. FWIW, I think the ring is gorgeous and I love the flat butt on the pear. Sit with it a while longer and see, maybe? Sometimes I put things away for a while and see if I change my mind after letting the subject rest for a bit, and that can definitely help. But sometimes I just need to have a clean slate, as it were. If you get to that point and do decide to part with it... I'm interested! If you wanted to get in touch, I'm DecoD on LT. Though I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one who was interested. Good luck figuring out the best path forward.

This is my set i had made. Just a little over a month old. I had it made after I fell in love if a CVB Inspired Design pear ring that I missed out on twice (now 3 times).
18k yellow brushed gold and platinum.

This is my ideal pear! Chunky monkey!

I’m sorry you aren’t immediately in love. If you decide to let it go I’m sure it’ll get snapped up

This is a new to me, CvB modified Delilah with a 1.6 carat unseated teal blue sapphire and an OEC halo cut by Yorum at OWD. I bought it from another PS’er. The band is orange blossom carvings in 18k and the halo and sapphire are in platinum.

I remember reading about it. And how you saw it on eBay and then ironically your friend happen to purchase the same ring. But how did you miss out on it a third time? I thought it was two times (not that that is good). The same thing recently happened to me with a ring I had been pining after so I can feel your pain. However take heart because I think I found something better and I hope you will too.

I don’t have one to post yet but was hoping you guys could help me out and tell me which style of CVB this solitaire is? I know they have different names but wasn’t able to find this one with a search.

I don't think that's CvB. I think it's a Stuller setting.

Looks like this base, with a different head.

It is Erika Winters-esque with the swoops, but is not EW. Her work is much more delicate.

Hmmmm. I was told differently. I will check the Stuller catalog.

@elizat I did some more digging I think it is this one from Cassie.

It could be that. They don't look quite the same to me, but the picture that is not the vendor photo is a fuzzy/grainy image though!

Here is that Stuller setting with a stone.

The Stuller head from that thread is definitely different from the one I attached (the fuzzy pic). The pic is fuzzy bc of it being a screenshot from a moving video. In any event I will inspect upon receipt.

She is someone I know in the jewelry community. I didn't make it clear that even though I had this CVB ring made that I am still interested in that ring. It's entirely my mistake for not communicating that. She decided to sell it and her local friend's boyfriend is buying it as an engagement ring. I'm sure the couple getting it will love it.

It is 100% the Olivia setting. Beautiful!

Not being familiar with the ring you wanted to imitate, I cannot compare. But I just wanted to comment that this is a gorgeous antique pear and I think the ring is beautiful! I think you could likely sell yours if you wanted to. If you never saw the original one in person, you actually might not love it more than this one. Highly magnified pictures are not the same as seeing it on your hand.

Unfortunately I do not know the couple purchasing the ring.

So sorry this happened. Very saddening. Sometimes things aren’t meant to be but I know that might not feel better now

maybe finding something completely different will be better. the imitation just seemed pull on the heartstrings too much

I had this made for my FIL to gift to my MIL. She has no idea what PS is, so I feel reasonably safe posting it here

No handshots (yet) as she won’t receive it for a few months. I’ll update then ::)

Caysie sourced the stone - it’s a 12x10mm Sleeping Beauty turquoise cab in her Prima halo, in 18k YG. The ring is size 5. Caysie’s photos (first set) capture its true real-world colour much better than mine - in-person it’s a vivid, saturated, and wholly unblemished beauty  Unfortunately my camera turned everything green!

The halo needed to be tweaked a touch for such a large stone. Her design is - as always - inimitable, and her execution is - as always - impeccable

I LOVE this ring so so so so much!! Can’t wait for the MIL to see it!! :cool2:

What a stunning gift. I’ve always had a fondness for turquoise. This is really an incredible ring and hope your MIL loves it!

Thank you Ella for editing that for me! ::)

Here are a couple of photos of my
Ceylon sapphire and diamond set (made to replace my wedding set that was stolen almost 6 years ago) and the link to the full thread telling the story of its creation!

Adding my new akoya pearl eternity in Caysie’s Legacy setting ❤️

I won’t post any photos in this thread since we still aren’t allowed to share pearls in SMTB. Just the thread link to the Pearls forum here!

The color is truly heavenly - love it!!

No glamour shots yet and have already received it, but I reset my stone into a 20k rose gold Clara setting with platinum bezel. 3.09 OMC, o-p color.

Many folks will probably prefer the solitaire with side stones, but that particular stone is quite old and has a wonky outline. It also had an indented natural right next to the girdle, which was very thin to extremely thin. The stone, plus prongs, felt unprotected to me. The new setting is more of my aesthetic preference and it also protects the stone. I'm not really a solitaire or a solitaire with side stones kind of person.

Prior setting (still retained it for future)
