David Klass resets...

Spinel half moon in platinum (wanted an every day ring, so I took out the spess and replace with another concave but spinel from Richard Homer- had the ring remade in platinum and raised the center basket just a wee bit taller)

I had repurpose and reset a couple of rings into multiple pieces.

Earrings and pendant are in 14k yellow gold Sri Lankan sapphires. Sapphire in pendant is from Gemfix, and the sapphire earrings from Jeff Davies.

The Five stone is in 18k white gold a la Yssie (I hope she doesn't mind, as I changed a few things to fit me a little more such as the shank in half bezel as that is my favorite look and feel when I wear the rings and no milgrain)
Center diamond is 1.01 L OEC, Montana Sapphires from Gemfix at 4.7mm, and Modern RBs colorless at 4.3mm GIA E/F color, very large color contrast, however they are at the ends, so I don't mind.

David is wonderful to work with :appl:

Is there a thread on the five stone???? I LOVE LOVE it!!

Adding my unheated, untreated, 2 ct. peach sapphire set into 18kt rose gold.

I'm so excited for my 1st, and definitely not last, DK project. I'll start my own thread with details when I have it in hand. For now here are some photos from David. Center diamond is .44cts, 1.73cttw.

Walked into DK looking for a cheap temp setting. Walked out with an 18K Tiffany Repro. Fit the stone, fit the finger. Fit the budget. Very happy and has quelled the thirst for a more permanent setting!

DK also added the engraving to my little wedding band which was my mother's. It was plain and unworn for about 20 years and now it has a new life on my finger! My real wedding band is now neglected and begs to be worn...but I've run out of fingers and real estate!

Amy and DK are now my favorite people!

Here she is....Miss Incredibly Hard to Photograph and When She Lets You, She's Still Very Unphotogenic....

Miss 3.55 OEC, GIA L, Vs1

Does anyone know any specs on this setting?? Width? Are there any more pics??

DK also did my new wedding band.

Hi Msop, the temp setting is 3.37mm at the widest point (at the top near the basket) and 2.04mm at the bottom. I'd personally prefer to shave it down a bit more so that it's under 3mm but why bother since it's just a temp setting! BUT, I've been so happy with it I haven't really wanted to change it to something more permanent. I don't know the maker as it was just a sample in the window (and Amy thought it was 10k instead of 18k so she charged me very little for it).

Love it! I'm a sucker for e/w settings, love the diamond and sapphire bracelets, too.

Thanks so much for the info! Beautiful ring! :wavey:

  • Let's see if this picture works - my three beautiful gold bands by David. The top one is the scrolly band Lorissey posted a while back, the center one is a sweet pea vine design, and the third is a gladiolus design. Both of the florals are my designs, to symbolize my kids' birth months (April and August). I had planned on a ring incorporating their birthstones, but I'm not a peridot person so this was Plan B :) I love how they turned out!

Thank you so much, blushpeony! I've only recently started wearing yellow gold, I was always a white gold girl. But I'm loving it! It's so rich-looking. I'm thinking of adding floral bands to my stack representing my birth month and DH's, but I'll have to figure out how to make them narrow enough for stacking. It was a huge challenge getting these narrow enough to stack on my short fingers :)

My first project with David Klass.

I love everything about it! Do you have neck shots?

I have a cushion pink tourmaline I've been thinking of converting into a pendant, I wonder if something similar to this would work (kite set). It's in a really high setting right now and I just never wear it.

Thanks again LtypeI. I think a kite set cushion would look great in a similar setting.I think if you want it to slide like my pear, I wouldn't go too small in stone size. It needs a bit of weight to hang correctly without a bail. Here's a neck shot for you. My chain is adjustable from 14 to 20 inches, I'm wearing it at 16 inches long in the pic. DK did some really beautiful milgrain detailing on this pendant. It didn't show up that well in my pics, but he did such a nice job.

Thought I'd add a couple of downwards/face up shots of my DK set.

- Solitaire - 3.61ct I VS2 with diamond in donut and in back of band.

Eternity - 2.68ctw, stones ideal cut, G/H

Set is in 18kt yellow gold.

ETA Center stone is from Blue Nile - not a Signature cut - just one from their regular stock list.

I love that, picante27! I'm not sure of the specs on my stone, as it was a gift, but it's pretty big. Probably 8 or 9mm maybe? Should make a substantial pendant. Thanks for the inspiration! And yes, DK's milgrain is fabulous! Now, if I could just get him to return my calls ;)

I communicate with DK via email and he is usually very prompt in responding, so if you haven't emailed him, I'd suggest trying that.

Darn ps just ate my whole story :angryfire:
My niece remade her wedding band. It was a yg channel set 11 stone band, very 90's. It was sentimental because her late father gave it to her mother. I told her when she was ready to redo I would send it to DK. She has rheumatoid arthritis that presented when she became pregnant. It was important that the band be comfortable and easy to remove with swollen fingers.
She decided on a platinum shared prong setting. It is 1.02 ctw and weighs 6g. She loves it!

David set my Montana Sapphire (cut like an OEC) in a three stone bezel along with two very warm OEC's that I had. I wanted the color of the diamonds to show which is why I chose white metal. This is my first ring with some color! I should have it on Tuesday.

It's here so I can add handshots. Excuse the windburned wrinkled hands. There is a thread for that I think I should add to!
Anyway, I like this ring alot. Substantial which is what I wanted although if I were to do it again, I'd probably make it a bit lower.
