Show us your Mahenge Spinels

This is a spinel from Tan which is 2.49 ct. and has incredible, blazing color. The cut, however, does not match the color, extinction all around... I am restraining myself from sending it for a recut but I do not see it in a ring in its current form, either...

I have a few more spinels, most of them are from mahenge.

I took pictures with my camera but can't upload them. Since I still had the spinels out, I went ahead and took pics with my phone. They're not the best but here they are anyway.

The darkest spinel really isn't that dark. It's a medium dark purple/red/pink with purple fluor and copper flashes. Very cool stone but that didn't show through.

Another of mine that I don't think has been posted before. This stone was from Tan and is 1.14ct.

The second photo is of the octagon cut that's now set. Unfortunately it's a bit camera shy and has darkened slightly in the setting but it's still very pretty and the fluor is amazing!

I didn't realize how many I owned until I went back to look over my photos.

I have two larger trillions, that are 1.9 and 1.7 carats each. A pair of 5.2mm (half carat stones) in the photo with the large tsavorite cab. A 1.53 carat cushion, a 2.1 carat pear, a 2.3 carat sleepy cushion in a ring, a 1.5 carat oval in a princess Diana style setting, a pair of pears, around 1.1 carats each (around a large oval spinel).

to capture the beautiful color....

Another tough one to get the color right...

This stone I got from ACS, REALLY LOVE IT !!!!

Studs, if I ever get my butt to the PO and send them to DanielM. Sadly, they are much much brighter then they appear here. PS still messes with my upload's color.

Thanks platinumrock! And hkk, I found the setting in the NYC diamond district, and one of my favorite vendor's benchmen set the stone and did those incredible claw prongs - so it's not a custom setting, but it was exactly what I'd envisioned, and it fit perfectly. I couldn't say no!
