The luster on those pearls

What a great idea for a thread! I love everything that has been shown! Even though the year was bad I had a pretty good bling year with lots of favorites but my top 3:

My #1 being my birthday/Anniv ring! It's a hand engraved platinum setting with 3.01 I VVS2 Emerald cut and .90 cttw G VVS2 Trapazoids.

IMG_7197.jpg

#2 Is my big red, blingy Omega Christmas watch. I love this thing, especially for Christmas.

IMG_8960.jpg

#3 was a toss up between my Rolex and Mr. Pinky. I think Mr. Pinky won out. 18kt rose gold sapphire and diamond flamingo pin.

IMG_8514.jpg

beautiful watch choice =)2

 I would say I’ll look the other way if you don’t play by the rules, but that‘s a lie. I can always ogle more bling pics!

Mr. Pinky for the win!

Your stackers remind me of candy! So fun.

Mr. Pinky says thank you so much!

Those pearls.....nothing beats an Akoya luster!

I got a number pieces this year as I grow close to finishing my collection, but a few stand out. First was for my 60th earlier this year. This is my 4.07ct S/T VS EC with .51ctw of tapered bullet sides in 18kt gold. This ring glows pale yellow in real life and is just luscious.

20200619_125607.jpg

20200626_103853.jpg

Then there was my 18kt rose gold opal and diamond drop earrings - 6 Australian opals from Lightning Ridge with .72ctw of diamonds. 2.75" in length. I received these for Christmas this year.

DKPV2020-11-16------OE--1.jpg

And lastly was a tie between this - my purple spinel with diamond halo in rose gold. The spinel is a little less than 4ct and internally flawless, and the diamonds are, if I recall correctly, were roughly 1/2 ct, tw. This wasn't a hugely expensive project, but it's very beautiful and unlike anything else I own. It's also the only halo in my jewelry box.

DKPV2020-10-15---62610-PH-01.jpg

Or this - my custom made enamel charm bracelet - the slowest and most excruciating project I've ever done. The charms are solid 18kt and were made and remade more than any other piece. Amy Phillips from DKJ deserves a sainthood for this project; it took years.

I have 2 honorable mentions.

Firstly, I pumped up the sides on my 3 stone, too, and it's a contender for my top 3, just because I wear it so much and really like the way it turned out. Sides went from 2 x .61ct F VS1 stones to .95 and .96 F VS2 stones.

20200831_131344.jpg

20200916_144952.jpg

And lastly, my second diamond bangle. It completes my bangle set and gives me a lot of options in the bangle department. It's in platinum and is a continuous band of 5pt diamonds, coming in at a shade over 5ctw. The 2 together, obviously, are over 10ctw.

ETA Ugh! Everybody else stuck to 3! Sorry, @JPie - I didn't have a clear favorite three, altho my No.s 1 and 2 were standouts this year for me.

I love every single piece

I would like to honorably mention my 5cttw I/SI bezel set diamond tennis bracelet please. :lol-2:

I had resisted getting a tennis bracelet for some time, thinking the Berricle one would do when mix and match with my other diamond pieces.

Wrong, the calling was just too great to resist! So I bought one.

I was thinking of a lab/MMD one first, however the price difference and saving in the size I would like was not significantly different to one with mined stones. Hence I opted for a diamond version.

Here it is with my 1.94ct MRB bangle bracelet.

My top 3 finds of 2020 are the emerald cut diamond ring (I was going to get a different setting but it grew on me) I bought from @whitewave , the three stone European cut diamond ruby target ring, and the re-set for my Brownish/Yellow OEC.20201124_123739.jpg20201017_172754.jpg20200810_193159.jpg

That enamel charm bracelet is DA BOMB @mrs-b!

Thank you, @LLJsmom - I'm so glad you like it. It was So. Much. Work. But now, it's the sort of piece that can really add to an outfit and definitely catches the eye. So it was worth it and I'm very glad I did it.

On the other hand, Amy suggested I keep going with it and make it into a necklace - a suggestion that pretty much sent me screaming from the room! No way - this one is DONE!

Not as grand as so many of these but as I wear some of this daily well worth it.
1. My benitoite necklace (with earrings but that counts as 2 right) stones from the gem trader, Michelle mai, and intro. Set by Dan M
2. Emerald and diamond French cut band all from Sako at CJD
3. And the perfect emerald band from Australia that is just divine with my ER.20200726_155042.jpg

The three amigos were my only acquisitions this year (all but the spinel itself). I love 'em to bits.
