My itty bitty lavendar star sapphire came today and the color is impossible to photograph! Ugh
In photos it comes out all possible colors of purple and lavender, it's madness.
Although in RL its definetely closest to the photos taken without flash but, its also very different than the color that the listing photos showed.
While it turned out to be different, luckily I still enjoy the teeny baby Star and am still thinking that yellow gold would suit it best!
I know....a 32$ gemstone in yellow gold?!
But it just so very much requests YG!
I cannot ignore the stone for sensibilities of course!
Uploading 2 photos is never an easy task for me so just beware the impending photo bomb!
That’s fabulous!! I am really looking forward to seeing it!I just wanted to update this thread by saying that if any of you remember my teeny tiny lavendar/purple star sapphire; I just sent it off today to a jeweler! It should be done next week! Its going to be set in 14k yellow gold, with a dotted band. It'll be a neat lil' ring!
Oh wow, that really turned out beautifully! The band is great. Love the beads on the flat gold. So gorgeous! Its finally finished!
These are the vendor's photos that I just received hours ago and I love this little ring! Its solid 14k yellow gold with the approx. 4.5x5mm gem set East to West instead of the usual North to South.
I only bought the sapphire for $32 and it was definetely well spent! It has a neat lil' star that is not the cleanest but has personality and even has a little (what I suspect to be an) air bubble that I love!
The color isn't well represented in the photos but especially the first two photos as its not mauve in the slightest but is a true lavendar and is slightly more accurate in the last photo with the stone facing the right.
I should get it this week and will post photos!!
So pretty! I love the simplicity. Less is more, I think. Its finally finished!

The seller (thaigemstore) sold it as a deep blue and black star sapphire. I posted the link a while ago (2 pages before at most) along with description of other star sapphires and another link. I bought all them from the same seller. I find the colour and star quite niceIcePhoenix is your stone a black star sapphire? I wanted to say so but at second glance I can see a bit of silvery-mauve there! I bet it looks lovely under direct light! Darker stars have such a mystery to them that is much underrated.
Wow, your ruby star is quite special!
Beautiful! I love the geometry of the setting and also that it has a pink star!
mouthwatering collection
It’s so beautiful, @Garnetgirl ! It looks as though it could be a very ancient ring and it has a classical elegance about it. I adore how tiny it is, yet what a treasure! That star just makes it so intimate and alive, as if it speaks to you. It’s got a joyousness of being . I think that is what I love about stars in general... they really feel alive with the shifting colors and ever emergent stars. Looking forward to more pics.My little purple star is finally on my grubby little finger!
I forget how moody sapphires are, even star sapphires! It shows many different shades of purple and lavendar depending on the light source. These are all in artificial so sadly I haven't seen it in natural light yet, BUT I will be taking her out to the farmers market tomorrow where I can be "super sneaky" and take some more snaps. I'm excited to see her star proudly displayed. (the first photo next to my Nutella haha is the one that most accurately represents the color I see 70% of the time on my sapphy.)
.
Really pretty! That halo is luscious!
Congratulations!! It’s beautiful and nicely large welcome to the star family on PS! Does it have a name?
