@ilovegemstones Somhow you have paired my favoite kind of stone with one of the garden flowers I like best - a white lace Hydragea .) How do these beautiful things fit together!

I love when that happens! Serendipity! I made it my avatar.=)2

My itty bitty lavendar star sapphire came today and the color is impossible to photograph! Ugh
In photos it comes out all possible colors of purple and lavender, it's madness.
Although in RL its definetely closest to the photos taken without flash but, its also very different than the color that the listing photos showed.
While it turned out to be different, luckily I still enjoy the teeny baby Star and am still thinking that yellow gold would suit it best!
I know....a 32$ gemstone in yellow gold?!
But it just so very much requests YG!
I cannot ignore the stone for sensibilities of course!

Uploading 2 photos is never an easy task for me so just beware the impending photo bomb!

I just wanted to update this thread by saying that if any of you remember my teeny tiny lavendar/purple star sapphire; I just sent it off today to a jeweler! It should be done next week! Its going to be set in 14k yellow gold, with a dotted band. It'll be a neat lil' ring!

That’s fabulous!! I am really looking forward to seeing it!

Its finally finished!

These are the vendor's photos that I just received hours ago and I love this little ring! Its solid 14k yellow gold with the approx. 4.5x5mm gem set East to West instead of the usual North to South.

I only bought the sapphire for $32 and it was definetely well spent! It has a neat lil' star that is not the cleanest but has personality and even has a little (what I suspect to be an) air bubble that I love!

The color isn't well represented in the photos but especially the first two photos as its not mauve in the slightest but is a true lavendar and is slightly more accurate in the last photo with the stone facing the right.

I should get it this week and will post photos!!

Oh wow, that really turned out beautifully! The band is great. Love the beads on the flat gold. So gorgeous!

This is one of the latest star sapphire I bought, but I can't seem to get a good picture of it. You have gorgeous pictures and I wonder how you take them. I got a normal phone (android galaxy a5) 20190905_000719.jpg 20190905_000646.jpg

So pretty! I love the simplicity. Less is more, I think.
The beaded band is just enough detail. Fabulous!

Thank you all! Its always nice when others can appreciate what you deem beautiful too.

@Bluegemz Thank you thank you! Im excited to see the piece in person as the color of the cab is much more lavender. Overall its a fun little ring with a sprinkle of a purple star that only cost me $32 for the cab + $190 for the 3mm dotted band/setting. I also made it a size US 7.5 so it can fit on my middle, index, or even thumb fingers which is a nice change as Im usually always sizing things to my two ring fingers.

@IcePhoenix is your stone a black star sapphire? I wanted to say so but at second glance I can see a bit of silvery-mauve there! :geek2: I bet it looks lovely under direct light! Darker stars have such a mystery to them that is much underrated.

@stracci2000 Thank you, you doll you! I can always count on you to understand my setting choices when it comes to cabs as we both very much enjoy simple settings in silver or gold!

So lovely GarnetGirl! It is beautiful! Who set it for you? So happy to see it in a setting! :appl:

I really like your ring, it came out great! I love E-W settings and this one is the perfect frame for your pretty star sapphire :-) Will look forward to seeing pictures of it on your hand.

The seller (thaigemstore) sold it as a deep blue and black star sapphire. I posted the link a while ago (2 pages before at most) along with description of other star sapphires and another link. I bought all them from the same seller. I find the colour and star quite nice

My little purple star is finally on my grubby little finger! :roll2:

I forget how moody sapphires are, even star sapphires! It shows many different shades of purple and lavendar depending on the light source. These are all in artificial so sadly I haven't seen it in natural light yet, BUT I will be taking her out to the farmers market tomorrow where I can be "super sneaky" and take some more snaps. I'm excited to see her star proudly displayed. :P2 (the first photo next to my Nutella haha is the one that most accurately represents the color I see 70% of the time on my sapphy.)

My latest acquisition: a 7.75 ct star sapphire from a local gem vendor. To my eyes, it is a lavender-blue colour. I am so glad I found this as I have been searching for a reasonably priced biggish blue star for a while.

It is set in a double halo with floral design. Good finger coverage:mrgreen2:!

It’s so beautiful, @Garnetgirl ! It looks as though it could be a very ancient ring and it has a classical elegance about it. I adore how tiny it is, yet what a treasure! That star just makes it so intimate and alive, as if it speaks to you. It’s got a joyousness of being . I think that is what I love about stars in general... they really feel alive with the shifting colors and ever emergent stars. Looking forward to more pics.

@YC, you have that amazingly celestial star ring also. Do you have a favorite I’d the 2? Do you ever wear them together?

Here are some quick snaps as promised of my little lavendar/purple star girl that I received yesterday. I think shes the best in our Southwestern desert sunlight!
20190907_140908.jpg 20190907_140928.jpg 20190907_140914_HDR.jpg

Shes a lot of fun to wear in that its such a dainty ring but her rays still create an otherworldly presence and the tone of her purple is very much unlike amethyst or other common purple stones; so I think shes intriguing in that way.

I think that it will be a perfect ring to give my future daughter (if she connects with the piece) when she turns 16 as we plan to name her Violett. The ring very much reminds me of a piece a teen would own if they kept their jewelry nicely; a good first star ring.

What a stunner? What's the price range for something like this? I'd assume over 10k

Welcoming this 20.9ct to the family :) Reporting live from the Bangkok Gem Fair
