Shower hostess gifts... what is everyone planning?

My shower is this coming saturday, and like most things I do I have waited till the last minute to figure out the thank you gifts.

I was planning on getting neat looking plates from Homegoods or Marshalls or something and doing a candle arrangement, but am not sure if I love the idea for these people.
There are my 3 Aunts and my dad''s FI throwing the shower. Dad''s FI owns a gift shop, so I almost feel funny giving her something that she would have in her shop (like the candle/plate).

I thought I''d see what you all were planning to do, or if you have any ideas for me today.

my shower isn''t even planned yet so i have no idea what i''ll do for gifts, but i think a little arrangement like that sounds nice. you might want to also maybe think about a nice piece of silver jewelry (if you know what they like) or a gift certificate to a fun restaurant?

I''d say a plant or floral arangement or wine or something prersonalized. It doesn''t matter what you give as long as you know it will be appreciated by your host.

My (first) shower was this weekend, I gave the two hostesses who are dear friends of mine (but closer to my mom in friendship, age and geography), gift certificates to the local spa that does everything from nails to facials and massage. That way they can get something they like and they are spa types. Sent the cards Sunday, hoping that they like it!

BM who is hosting a shower many states away from the first one, wondering what to get her. She just found out she is preggers, but isn''t telling people...I am super excited for her, but don''t want to let the cat out of the bag. Then there is the work shower, not sure what to do with that, but will give cut flower arrangement to the hostess. And my athletic team is throwing a "shower" where everyone wears an old BM or wedding dress, men included, not sure how that will go down, will give bottles of wine to the hosts for that. Then FMIL''s "women''s group" is having another one, I heard that everyone is giving me a recipe and words of wisdom. Must find something earth-mothery for that.

I guess it depends what sort of shower you are being thrown?

I was just browsing gifts.com and while I didn''t find exactly what I wanted there, it did inspire me!
Since these are the same aunts who will be making the desserts for the wedding I thought what about Jessie Steele aprons!?

I''d probably send a flower arrangement as a thank you gift. I''d also probably try to find out what the hostesses'' favorite flowers (type and/or color) are and go with that.
