Silly or Typical?

So I am fairly new to PS but love it already...so here is my questions to the fellow LIW. Do you visit the Proposal Ideas board in secret hope that your FF is posting to get advice on your proposal?

I do admit I feel a little silly saying that I have gone over there a couple, okay a dozen times over the last month for this reason.

Okay confession over. I am a big girl, I can handle it...am I really the only one??

I go visit there because I like the romantic stories, and the sincerity of the guys over there, but I have no illusions about my guy ever posting there.

BF knows I'm all over this site like yellow on lemon. He'd be a madman to post anything there.

(Plus he's pretty smart and creative, so I don't think he'd need any proposal help)

My guy has a pretty strong network of friends, so I'm sure he'd talk it over with them (and get good advice) way before he'd post on a site like this.

I do wonder about how many guys are secret LIW BFs though!

I never did go to that forum, maybe because I was afraid that reading all those romantic proposals would cause me to be disappointed if FI didn''t do something like that. He''s not a romantic guy at all so when he did propose and it was so creative, I was thrilled. But now that you mention it I think I''''ll head over

Sometimes I find myself thinking "what if I don''t get the extra-special proposal I dream of?" And then I realize...

1) He does cute, sweet, romantic stuff out of the blue, so for something as important as a proposal, I know he won''t just decide one day that "today is the day" and do it as we''re eating cereal or something, lol.
2) ANY proposal from him will be extra-special because he''ll be asking me to MARRY him.

But I do enjoy that portion of the forum...it''s fun to help the guys out and hear the stories!

As much as I loved my proposal... I kinda like the cereal idea. You would NEVER see it coming.

I knew mine was coming. I had a "feeling" the day before (my ONE freak out post!) and then about 20-30 minutes before the proposal I was absolutely certain.

Had he done it over Crunch Berries... I would have been completely SHOCKED!

Oh girlygirl! You are sooo not the only one. I do that almost dailly! Although I know he''ll never post there because he knows I am on this site constantly, but I still check, and hope. I also am guilty of checking the rockytalky forum to see if he has posted any questions about diamonds. Again....I know he wont....but a girl can dream right?

Princess_Dreamer- In reality I know he wouln''t post there...but I think I just like the thought of it. He knows about rockly talk because of some google results that kept pointing him back there. He also knows I have been spending time on a new board, he may know that its PS...not totally sure. I think just the thought of it is fun like you mentioned!

My boyfriend and I met at pub trivia. If I were to propose, I would go back to where we met (which wouldn''t be unusual) and surreptitiously make our team name "SB Will You Marry Me" (also wouldn''t be hard because the team never discusses the name, it is always the same). Then when the announcers announce the scores for the first round...

It''s the only public proposal I would like because it would be so darn us!

A is really into gardening, and there''s a local place around here that sells seeds they''ve custom grown. I''d contact them and see if they could seal a ring inside of one of their seed packets (preferrably for some sort of really pretty flower) and then take it home and ask him if he could plant the seeds for me! When he opened up the package, he''d dump out the ring (he''d know something was up by the weight, but whatever)...and that would be that!

I never look there, because I know my FF won''t plan anything over the top fancy and I don''t want to feel disappointed that he didn''t go to as much effort as some of the other guys.

Me too...!!! But I can't help it, I love reading the sweet proposal stories!!! So my left brain is secretly telling my right brain to be realistic and not set any expectations!

girlygirl29, you are definitely not the only one! I recently read a post that is was 90% match to my situation (vacation location, date, plus other preferences)!! But after stalking the OP, I determined that it's not my bf, LOL!
