Silver Jewelry - Show Me!

Looking at a new piece of silver jewelry (pendant) for my fiance.

I keep hearing about different types of silver (Argentium, etc.).

What is your preference when it comes to silver?

I went looking for some of the Georg Jensen jewelry and other old jewelry my mother gave me a few days ago, then had to give up partway through my search. I don't want you to think that everyone is ignoring your thread, RR. It's just that Jewelry Pieces is slow moving and if some of us get waylaid it is even slower moving!

I do not wear much silver jewelry now although I wore more when I was younger. I really appreciate nice silver from the 1930's and 1940's however. I cannot find the barrettes my mother gave me, but I have to say that beautiful, simple, sterling silver barrettes really make an impression on me.

I could not leave this thread without mentioning one other piece in silver that has been memorable to me. It is a charm I saw on Etsy made of fine silver clay that inspired me to ask the artisan who made it to create a charm for my charm bracelet out of gold. I have to say that the charm made for me was not nearly as beautiful as this silver one! I absolutely loved this at first sight.

I'm not very active in the forum lately. But today's not a busy day so I'd like to share some of my silver jewelry. I don't really know about the different types of silver. My taste in silver jewelry is not for the modern and shiny kind - I prefer an antique look. It's a shame that I never wear them. Here are the pictures:

Thank you for your compliment. I never wear them because somehow I feel they're not good enough to be a part of my jewelry rotation. Maybe I'm spoiled with gold jewelry. The stones are not valuable and for me it's like wearing fakes. I can't get the luxurious feel when I wear them. I don't know, am I being unreasonable? I don't want to sound ungrateful

I have many silver pieces, but I'll post 2 of my favorites. The first is a silver bracelet that my friend, who is a silver/goldsmith, made for me. The 2nd is an argentium ring with tanz and aquas that I purchased from Yvonne Raley on Etsy. I also have a silver collar that I got from Stuller that I had added a hammered finish to, but I don't have a picture. It oxidizes fairly quickly, where the argentium silver pieces do not. I love the look of silver, and it's affordability

I just came across this thread now. I just got some fantastic collections of Jenny Present’s personalized necklaces. Her designs are splendid. Especially when it comes to silver necklaces, the designs are even more remarkable. Check this one. This is one of my favorite collections.

I just saw this picture yesterday, and I love the look of this pendant made by wingedlion on etsy. It looks like a very solid piece, nice cabochon, and nice garnet, and the design by itself that I like a lot.
