Sleeping with Ring = Dull Diamond??

A friend of mine told me over the weekend that if I sleep with my ring on the diamond will get dull. I''m inclined not to believe her, but am wondering if there is any truth to this?

Not true. The dullness is usually from not keeping the diamond clean. Most people don't wear jewelry to bed for various reasons:
1. Damage: prongs getting snagged on linens
2. Damage: chipping diamond if thrashing hand and hitting the frame of the bed or something hard.
3. Size: fingers swell so it might be a tight fit and limit blood circulation.

If you keep your diamond clean, it should never look dull unless you bought a dud in the first place.

I don't sleep with mine for both #1 and #2 reasons but the "Dullness" could be if you push it against your skin and if your skin gets kind of oily at night like mine does, you could have some real nice funk on t here in the morning.
