Really, really nice pictures of the Smithsonian collection. I remember seeing it years ago, and thinking it''s the nation''s rock collection.

Any chance you have a shot of Richard Homer''s color change diaspore? I know that it is supposed to be larger than the 25 carat one he showed us here. Link

Fly Girl, it''s funny that when I went through the exhibit keeping an eye out for a diaspore and I didn''t see any. But looking through my photos I saw that there is a diaspore in one of them. I don''t know if this is Richard''s or not. The display didn''t mention anything about color change. There was one display case showing color change but it only had alexandrites in it.
