A really good friend of ours and his wife just had their first baby so that brought up the discussion of when we might want to have our first child, and SO said that he would want to be married for 3 or 4 years first. I said that I also want to be married for a few years first, but that I would not want to start trying any later than age 29. SO said, "Great! That would give us about 4 years to be married first."
I am currently 24 so he is thinking we will be married within the next year or so. We are not engaged so this makes me think he will be proposing within the next 6 months. We have talked about how we do not want a long engagement (preferably less than a year). He has also said that he already knows when and how he will propose, and our 4 year anniversary is right before Christmas so I think he may do it then. We shall see.
